is playing giggs in another 44 matches worth it just so he can beat charltons all-time appearances record? Why is Giggs topping this record so important? does it have to be competitive matches, do sub appearances count? what improvised role is he playing now and who's space in the team is being sacrificed for giggs to play. Has fergie gone soft in his old age?

I'd like to see Giggs get the record. I think he deserves it. It's mad to think that he has been around since the old 1st division. He still has a lot to offer even if you don't see him bombing down the wing anymore. He had an excellent season despite a few poor performances in the cup final and latter european games. I'm assuming he will be used sparingly since our squad will be getting bigger and we will be fighting on all four fronts. He has been a model professional and you have to admire his hunger and desire to keep turning out. Good on him and I hope he gets it.

I agree and fair play to Giggs if he gets the record, i hope he does, Seriously what a record that will be, to pass Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 759 appearencesv ofr the club and scoring 140 goals along the way and to be playing 16/17 years for 1st team of one of the biggest clubs in the world is amazing...Giggs will definatly pass it.

yeah i hope he breaks the record too. He has achieved so much for man utd and is the longest serving. Good luck to him. It won't be easy next season, however, coz he is getting older and his legs can only take him so far.
