I'm sat here watching MUTV and there is a programme on highlighting Ryan Giggs career at United . Its easy to forget the contribution Ryan has made to the success that United have had ever since he made his debut at the age of 17 . Hard to believe in the modern game that there is a player who is content to play all his football at the same club .
When you look at some of the great players that United have had in the time Ryan has been playing for United . They are are gone but we are still blessed to have him still pulling on our jersey . I think the next generation of United supporters will be asking the same type of questions of Giggsy that my generation asks about the likes of Bestie , Law and Charlton .
We all know that time is catching up with Ryan and his playing days , 759 games for United so far . Hopefully he still has a few years left playing for United. I will be certainly savouring the next couple of seasons that he has left . Cause it will only be when he hangs up his boots for good that we really will appreciate our welsh wizzard .

He really s a remarkable man. How someone is able to keep their cool and live
such a clean life while in such a stage is a testimony to his character. Neville and
Scholsey also fall into that bracket.

Being one of the younger members, I haven't seen all of Giggsy's career but what
I have witnessed, is fantastic. Obviously "that" goal in '9 will come to mind when
people talk about Giggsy's history and past but you have to remember that the
Welshman was part of three if not four great teams! Who on earth will ever be
able to say that? Ronaldo?.....Ehhh no!

I remember some of his great goals, but the one that really sticks out in my mind
was against Juventus in 2002 (I think), where we were at the Della Alpi, and
he picked up the ball in a fairly similar position as to '99, and ran and ran and ran
along the edge of the box, beating Juve players and then firing a shot beyond the
worlds best goalkeeper in Buffon.

He's been there and done it all really. It was fitting that he broke Sir Bobby's
record last May and if all in the world was right he would have scored the winner
but to be denied by a Terry header. Ferguson won't pick players on favour or such
so if Giggsy plays next season, then its on merit and because of his
performances.

How many times have you seen him sent off, booked? He's a proper footballing
gentleman, and comes across as a guy who doesn't want the limelight but wants
a laugh and a good time with friends. Has that sort of easy going laid back
swagger about him, and read all you like, he's not as tall as he looks on TV.
I "met" him at Old Trafford once, and I was amazed at how small he is! But who
needs height when you've got the feet and magic of Ryan? Eh?

Here's a really good video I found on Youtube of him;

stretford end chant with a few lads very early in his career was none to tall underweight ryan giggs is $"^"!£$ great la la la la la la la la la hear us roar hear us sing giggsy flying down the wing etc etc only lasted a few weeks but it summed it up . he was the new george best and the pin up boy . lucky for him i think that becks broke through and the spotlight changed aim . if he had a decent set of hamstrings he would be up near 900 by now . as you said we only truly realise what we have when its no longer there . he cant put in more than 25 games now as when overplayed now his form suffers badly .

Well said DublinRed.
What more can you say about the man. He epitomises the club with his
professionalism, skill and the way he carries himself off the pitch.
Hopefully he will be giving defenders twisted blood for a while yet
and we will all get to savour him in his last chapter for the club.

It was a disgrace how some 'fans' called for his head last season,
saying he was a joke, rubbish etc etc. They clearly have short memories.
Thats why Im golad he finished the season on such a high.

THAT goal against Wigan, which settled us down after we had suffered
an afternoon of heart failure. The winning penalty in the CL final, winning
his 10th Prem and 2nd CL, and getting to lift the trophies as captain.
Beating Sir Bobby's app record was another HUGE milestone.

I was just delighted for Giggs, more so than for any other player
(bar Scholes maybe). He deserves everything he gets when he finally hangs up
his boots. He is a living, playing legend and the best left winger to have ever
graced the game. Arise Sir Giggs, you absolute legend.

Also, he has scored the best goal in a United shirt. we all know what that is :)

Ryan is the most successful player in not just united's history but british history. He has just overtook Bobby Charlton as most games for united, he scored the greatest ever goal in the FA Cup and all this from a player that still puts some players many years his younger to shame.

Years to come I will be proud to say I grew up watching United with Ryan Giggs in the team

Tbh, I don't think any of us here can really do Giggs justice. I don't think any words can really describe what most of us feel and think of him as a player and a person.

But heres looking forward to another season or two of a truly remarkable player and man!

This man lives and breathes Manchester United! He is a true legend and was often an unsung hero when we won PLs and had bigger name players. He will be remembered as a all time great though and his name will be mentioned in the same sentences as Best, Law and Charlton in future years.

There's not much more I can say that hasn't already been said in this thread except I feel extremely privileged to have seen him play and unfortunately Giggs will only trully be appreciated once he has finished.

It will be a sad day in the history of Manchester United when he finally decides to call it a day, although hopefully there's a few more season's to come.

Fantastic video btw, those quotes from some of the best players in the world really emphasize just how great a player Giggsy is.

How good does "Sir Ryan Giggs" sound? I can't think of any footballer more deserving. The relentless commitment to MUFC, the good he does for the community. That and he has more trophies then god. I'm actually trying to get my woman to let me name our son Ryan Giggs Piazza.

Before I became a fan of Manchester United or the Premier League, I was a Ryan Giggs fan.

Ryan was the best player I had seen since watching the awesome displays Maradona and I mean that.

He could run past players and leave them on their bums. He has the second most number of assists in Premier League history and as haggs pointed out, he would have played much more games had it not been for his dodgy hamstrings.

It was really painful to read and hear what people had to say of Ryan last season.
His displays were poor at times, but he is a legend and not deserving of such scathing remarks.

I'm glad he scored against Wigan and converted his penalty against chel$ki in Moscow.

Watch an tribute to Ryan Giggs and you will understand he was for every title-winning Man Utd team. Ryan Giggs is a legend.

The original was the gerry daly chant " 5 foot 8 underweight gerry dalys ###### great la la la la la " i agree without his hamstring problems he would have played many more games.
One of my biggest regrets is he changed countries from england to wales after his parents divorced , a great player of his stature deserved to play in the world cup or the european championships , with all the problems england have had on the lefthand side he would still be in the team today.
My best memory of him will always be in 99 standing in the lower holte end and watching him run through the arsenal team and smashing it in the back of the net what a moment to witness live superb.
He will be remembered forever more with his 10 titles and all the cups etc as the most decorated player in history , i think that about sums up his achievements
