Striker signs from Milan for a fee in the region of £10.4million

Fiorentina have completed the capture of striker Alberto Gilardino from Milan.

Gilardino, who signed at the San Siro from Parma in 2005, has penned a five-year contract with the Viola.

The 25-year-old is expected to be officially unveiled as a Fiorentina player on Thursday in a deal in the region of €13million (£10.4million).

Gilardino, who failed to secure a place in the Italy squad for Euro 2008, will rejoin former Parma team-mate Adrian Mutu and manager Cesare Prandelli at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Gilardino is a good player, but is not suitable for a great team like Milan.
In Fiorentina he will score many goals.
Cesare Prandelli, the coach of Fiorentina, has made him become a great goleador when he played in Parma.

- Spot on! But Tottneham (or Camoli) were stupid to pay that in the first place. Even if he makes good next season, I don't think that he can justify that fee. In a way it probaly hung over him like an Albatross this season.

I heard we might have sold Pique for close to 8m pounds, instead of the 3.5mil that was originall bandied about. If that's true, I think it was a good deal for both clubs, but it is an inflated price.
