This weekend saw a lot of goals within the box, but there were a few gems and two goals that were not so beautiful, but immensely important.

The first of which was Alonso vs Chelsea 0-1:

Nobody had managed to breach Stamford Bridge in 4 1/2 years lending huge importance to this deflected goal.

New manager, new fortune. All that was not so good under Wendy, rose to the occasion with David Bentley supplying a pinpoint cross for Roman Pavlyuchenko to head past a badly positioned keeper.

Probably the most beautiful goal of the weekend and I wish Man Utd were blessed with someone who can take free kicks like Richardson can. Didn't he manage to teach Ronaldo anything at Carrington?

I was very tempted to vote for Alonso, because I watched the game and it was of HUGE significance, BUT it's about goals and Richardson's strike was sweet.

I don't think you can hit a better free-kick from that range. Stunning.
