Welcome to a spanking, shiny new thread that will serve as a reference for goals & assist from the major European leagues.

This will help us be more educated, as well as more informed football pundits and give us some numbers to claims about which players form the best strike partnerships etc.

Well, we can proudly and categorically say that Rooney & Berbatov form the best strike partnership in European competition.

Anybody really, really want to tell me why Fergie should break up that partnership?

BUT in domestic competition, David Villa and Mata are white hot in La Liga. Same with Messi and Eto'o, if they can be considered a strike partnership.

In the EPL, Agbanglawhore :) and Carew lead the way along with Adebayor and van Persie.

BTW, Mauro Zarate and Goran Pendev are also doing a lot of damage in Serie A, while Ibisevic and Ba of Hoffenheim (currently 2nd in the Bundesliga) are have struck 13 times representic the most prolific strike partnership in a major European league, although I know some will say the level of the Bundesliga defenders might not be at EPL, Serie A or La Liga level.

It's still no slight feat.

Good thread, I love stats like McAdams loved Gosling but what do the arrows signify?

That I have a screen shot program, which allows me to put in arrows :D

I'll use the arrows to highlight whatever I think is noteworthy.

I just wanted to highlight that Ag + Carew and Ade + van Persie form the most prolific strike partnerships.

Also wanted to highlight that Huntelaar hasn't started the season that brightly.

In the EPL, Agbonlahor & Carew are the top strike partnership with 10 goals.

Sorry for the screenshot quality, I used a different screen shot program today.

Out of interest, how many people here would be interested in seeing goalkeeper stats too?

Updated on the first page!

Eto'o leading the scorers' charts with 13 goals.
Ibisevic from Hoffenheim in 2nd place with 12 goals.

Eto'o and Messi form the most prolific strike partnership in domestic comps with 19 goals.

Here are some goal-keeping stats from the EPL:

SV=Saves
GA=Goals Against

Updated!!!

Ibisevic and Eto'o are having great seasons so far, which has helped their perspective clubs to the the top of their leagues.

Eto'o and Messi form the more prolific goal-scoring partnership in Europe at the moment with 25 goals between the both of them. This has helped Barca build a comfy 10 point cushion at the top of the table.

My worry is that so far this decade, whenever Barca win La Liga, Chelsea win the EPL.
And whenever Real Madrid win the league, Man Utd wins the EPL :(

Meaning thiscould be the first year, Man Utd buck that trend :D

A little something extra this week.

IN the EPL Peter Cech leads the goal-keeping stats, followed closely by our own Edwin van der Sar.

Updated on page 1!!

Samuel Eto'o ueber Alle!

27 goals just in the league and on course for the Golden Boot.

Eto'o, Messi and Henry have a combined total of 69 goals in the league alone....and that was before last nights thrashing of Real Madrid!

I still maintain that I'd rather have David Villa than Samuel Eto'o. Also Gillardino has proved me right.

I always said that Milan were the stupid ones. Refusing to change & adapt, instead wasting an awesome goal poacher.
Dude, me too!

David Villa is an awesome, awesome striker anf from most reports more of a team player and easier to get along with.

Villa has great technique and great work etchi.

Maybe a shade less work ethic than Tevez, but SO MUC MORE skill and end product!

Thanks for the update RFR.
It's interesting to note that Forlan has had another great season. He is a top goalscorer. I sometimes wonder why it didn't work out for him at United.

And he's just scored again against Betis!

Think he psyched himself out while he was with us. Won't forget his goals against the dippers and Chelsea though - instant legend! :)

Also..... just realized this thread has had over a thousand views!

Man Utd players lead the scoring, as well as assists charts.

Eto'o is still the top scorer in the major European leagues.

Marco di Vai is having a great season and Gignac continues to lead the french scoring charts.
