Moscow still waiting for Manchester United`s money

Moscow, July 12: European champions Manchester United still owe the city of Moscow 148,000 euros (USD 233,400) for transporting thousands of fans from the city's airports to the Luzhniki Stadium for the Champions League final in May.

A city spokesman said they had used 670 buses to transport some 40,000 Manchester United and Chelsea fans from the city's three airports to the stadium and back. United won the trophy after a penalty shootout.

"Unfortunately, Manchester United have not paid us back in full. They still owe us about 148,000 euros," he told a news conference on Friday. A spokesman for United said they expected to settle the bill by the end of the month.

Is the club short of cash??

Still, its not worthy Manchester United to NOT pay the bills in time.

It's actually pretty poor that United had to pay for their fans to be transported to the stadium. The state should have paid for that as it was the final for the biggest club football competition and they were the hosts.

Maybe they should contract some local electrician to propose a new plan? Maybe install a couple hundred of those plug in night lights for the kids. A few power strips and extension cords. Surely it would be cheaper

Thats a good point actually.

But its not surprising, considering the prices of everything else that the Russians charged.

Host to make cash obviously, why give out freebies? It's small things that add up fast that makes you the cash. 1,000 people pitching in 1 quid for bus makes more than 10 people buying a 50 quid item
