Reds defender Gabriel Heinze insists he's taking no notice of current media speculation linking him with an Old Trafford exit.

Instead, the 29-year-old has his sights firmly set on leading Argentina to the final of this year's prestigious Copa America tournament.

"Nobody at United has told me I'm not wanted next season," Heinze told the Sunday Mirror. "I have just enjoyed one of the best years in my career [and the team] played sensationally."

Heinze, who made 38 appearances for the Reds in the 2006/07 campaign, has allegedly attracted interest from some of Europe's premier clubs, including Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona.

"I know rumours of transfer offers have appeared, but that's not a problem for me. My head is with the Argentina team and the Copa America."

Argentina face the United States of America in their opening Group C clash on 28 June.

He is a great player and has shown great passion and desire playing for us. It would be a shame to let him go but he probably should think about his future. He is hitting 30 and has the opportunity to play for Barca or Madrid. If I was him I would go especially since Evra seems to be the first choice left back. We have loads of good defenders that can play in that postion:
Brown, O'Shea, Evans, Silvestre, Pique and Bardsley are all capable of playing there if Evra is not fit.
I for one would be sad to see Heinze go but I dont think it would do the team any harm if he did go. He is not as effective as Evra going forward and is not as quick. These are very important factors. He does wear his heart on his sleeve and is a beast in the tackle but i fear his time is up. Good luck to him if he stays or goes.

I would like him to stay but and this is the trick.

If he would go for £6m and this and other funds mean we can get a rompa stompa striker like Torres then I would go for it.

Evra can handle it as can O'Shea or Silvestra as back ups so were good.

Then and only if that money was needed would I take it.

heinze to liverpool

it hasn't happen since 1964 and i hope it won't happen again. A manu player to leave for liverpool. it's possible that Gaby could buy his current contract with us and switch sides because he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Gabriel Heinze has been one of my favourite United players since he signed for us and I think some of the criticism he's had has been unjustified. Since his spell out with injury he's not quite been the same but at his best he's better than Evra in my opinion, it's just a question of whenther he's actually able to get back to his best.

I've heard that various people at United aren't happy selling him to another Premier League club so if he goes it'll be to Italy or Spain I would imagine. But Heinze has also said he's happy to stay at United for at least this coming season so hopefully he'll stay.

Heinze is good but there are better players at United. He should go and look for a regular place in another team like Real where Roberto Carlos left.

If he is to move to liverpool, then they should give us John Arne Riise. Good switch, aint it??????????

argh please heinze don't go to the dippers - we love you here and are ten thousand times better than evra!! ok maybe not ten thousand times better, but our defence is so much more solid with him in the side. i couldn't take it if the dippers beat us twice in the transfer market - first torres, then heinze.

heinze won't be going anywhere not this season anyway, possibly in a couple of years when he's won everything he can with us.

he's an intelligent guy i'm sure, so he'll be able to see just how shit and self over rated these scousers really are!!
