Arsenal midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb has joined in the recent spate of bridge burning by publicly criticising both Arsene Wenger and Cesc Fabregas.

Hleb has long been toying with a summer exit from Emirates, and has been tagged as a near-certainty to leave since Internazionale made an approach towards the end of last season.

It has been suggested that the Belarusian attacker is fed up with the hustle and bustle of life in London, while the player himself has admitted he is yet to fully adapt to the pace of English football.

However, the 27-year-old's main beef may in fact be with the fact Wenger has deployed him almost exclusively on the wings, despite the fact his preference is to play through the centre.

“My view of how I should be playing didn't coincide with the manager's,†Hleb was quoted as saying in The Sun.

“I told him last season I wanted to leave and think he was quite upset about it. But ask him. It may turn out he's happy to see me go.â€

Selfish

Fabregas is the reason Hleb cannot get a game in the middle, as the Spanish playmaker has taken the Premier League by storm over the last few seasons since bursting onto the scene as a teenager.

But Hleb is not so enamoured with his team-mate as the rest of Europe is, insisting the EURO 2008 winner is greedy and goal-hungry.

“When we get scoring opportunities, Fabregas is much more selfish than me,†said the ex-Stuttgart player, who has often been criticised for his minimal contribution on the score-sheet.

“Given a chance to shoot, he always goes for it — unlike me.â€

Barca Bound

Hleb and his representatives are reportedly deep in negotiations with Barcelona, who are keen to replenish their creative stocks after ditching both Deco and Ronaldinho.

And the former Dinamo Minsk youngster confirmed that Catalonia is his preferred destination: “I don't know where I'll be next season but I'd prefer Barcelona. It is being negotiated and, hopefully, will be decided soon.â€

Well the general idea in football is to score, but there have been several instances say of Fabregas not squaring to an open man who had a better opportunity to score than himself.

Who cares what Arsenal think.

Anderson > Fabregas > Hleb > Arsenal

LMAO!

They start to get a good squad together, then players leave, others want to leave and its time to start again! :p

Tbh, I can't see them being as close to winning the League as last season with the departures, but they will probably prove me wrong.

But their always seems to be trouble at Arsenal. Lack of discipline really.

I'll be glad of Hleb leaves Arsenal. He's a great dribbler of the football and has become an important member of their 1st team. This is the first I've heard of him preferring to play through the centre and, with his dribbling skilss, I think he's more suited to the wing too.

Hleb 'shocked' by reports
Midfielder denies criticising Wenger and Fabregas

Alexander Hleb has denied making disrespectful comments about Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and team-mate Cesc Fabregas.

The Belarussian, who has been linked with a summer move to Barcelona, was critical of Wenger and Fabregas in a reported interview.

Hleb had suggested his view of how he fits into the team differs from that of Wenger, and he also claimed Fabregas was selfish in front of goal.

However, the former Stuttgart ace admits he is 'shocked' by the reports and says he would never besmirch either his manager or his midfield cohort.

Not true
"I am shocked by some media reports," Hleb told his personal website.

"In some newspapers it was mentioned that I have attacked Arsene Wenger and Cesc Fabregas.

"But let me tell you: This is not true! The statements in the papers are definitely not my statements.

"I would never ever say something disrespectful about them. And there is a simple reason for this: Cesc is a very good friend of mine and Arsene is one of the persons I respect most."

thats the main aaspect about arsenal that ticks me off. They buy loads of young players and when they noticed by other clubs, they want to leave.Hleb is a quality player and he is almost certain to leave this summer
Well I am just glad that in United, no player how much they wanted to leave, would go on record criticizing the manager and colleague.

what like roy keane did you mean ?
or jap stam
I suppose you were responding to my post? Neither Keane nor Stam had, whilst still with the club, really gone on record to indicate they wanted to leave the club and naming and shaming the manager and colleagues (Keane might have done it once but that was really an exception)
