Its clear that livrpool are improving as a team and squad with every season but they simply dont seem to produce it in the league . What is the reason for this many say it rafa's rotation . But for me they have seven or eight players who arnt good enough . So what do you think how can liverpool improve to get better results in the league?

I really dont think they can without sacking Benitez as i said in my thread which compares him and Houllier, but I do feel worried they could have a good season one year but the way we have been playing we should be fine :D

Rotation is not the problem. Fergie has played the
rotation game all season and its done us no harm.
It's the quality of players that you rotate that's the
problem and Liverpool's squad simply doesn't have
enough qaulity.

Could this be the answer

Out

Harry Kewell (free)
John Arne Riise (5 million)
Sebastian Leto (3 million) Buy back Clause
Xabi Alonso (13 million)
Steve Finnan (2 million)
Andrey Voronin (free)
Carson + Kuyt (swap)
Danny Guthrie (3 million) Buy back Clause
Peter Crouch (11 million)

With these as possible replacements

David Villa + David Silva (30 million + Kuyt)
Philip Degen (free) Done
Marcel Jansen (10 million)
Gareth Barry (8 million + Carson) Fee being negotiated
Santiago Canizares (free)
Aaron Ramsey (5 million) Fee being negotiated
Eidur Gudjohnsen (3 million) Fee agreed
Marcelo Moreno (6 million) Fee being negotiated

With so many change's it's going to take a few more season's to get liverpool balanced again, time will tell

Benitez is the problem. He doesn't know how to manage in the Premier League and he is so crap in the transfer market imo.

To bridge the gap, they need to sign top quality players and forget their third rate players who are no way good enough (Pennant, Crouch etc etc)

Or a better option would be to keep buying third rate players and then they'll never win the league :D

 Wow Dyne, you went into a lot of detail there.
I can actually see a few of them happening. Barry could be a cert especially
with Carson in the bargain. Id hate Pool to get Barry as he's a top player.
Its clear the Scousers have a LOT of players that cant cut it with the big boys,
but if they can get in players like Villa, Silva, Barry and even Eidur they could
be a force next season.
But sure dont the Scousers say 'It'll me our year this year', so you never know
:D

We need to get rid of Riise, Hyypia, Kuyt, Finnan, Arbeloa, Pennant, Kewell, Voronin.

We need to buy fullbacks prob Abidal and Degen possibly play Barry there. We need wingers, Silva would be my choice and we need another world class hopefully David Villa.

We also need a replacement keeper and another CB for cover.

If we get these players in place we can challenge for title in 09/10. Next season is too soon.

Rafa is a genius, his managerial skills are fantastic,
his transfer dealings are the best ever,
his tactical knowledge is brilliant,
his rotation system is amazing,
his motivation of the team is outstanding.

He doesn't need to change a thing to put
Liverpool exactly where they should be.

4th every season.

Gerrard: We're not two far off

STEVEN GERRARD reckons Liverpool are just two signings away from winning the league title.

The Reds will finish fourth in the Premier League this season, a place lower than last term.

But skipper Gerrard insisted: “We have proved this season that we are not as far behind the leaders as the table suggests.

“We're disappointed we didn't maintain a challenge for longer.

“But hopefully we will invest in a couple of quality additions. We're getting closer.â€

Liverpool have not won the title for 18 years and England midfielder Gerrard's highest league finish is second.

Gerrard, 27, added: “I've been lucky and won more things than most but I'm greedy and want more with Liverpool.â€

A Liverpool fan wrote/text in to Ceefax/Teletext yesterday to say that if Ronaldo was swapped with Kuyt this season then Liverpool would have won the title.

Daft Scousers.

Jose Mourinho + £100,000,000 = SUCCESS !!!

As things are right now = 4th every year !!!

But with Gillettt and Hicks continually arguing and bickering ....

I'd say forget it - another 18 years will pass by as the Dippers win nothing.

How can Liverpool bridge the gap.....

he he he...

First, they have to get all the best men of Manchester to go to Liverpool and get paid to make babies with the womenfolk of this year's Europe's capital for culture.

Then send some of Manchester's finest mother's over there to teach the expecting mothers how to teach manners to the buns in their oven.

Then send the best fans plus Gary Neville and Paul Scholes to teach Liverpudlians and their players a bit about class.

You then send Sir Alex Ferguson to teach them abut winning and mental endurance.

You wait 20 years and then you should have a team that can finish in second position!
