Yes, it's another Ronaldo thread.

The title pretty much sums it up.

I'm getting quite tired of the Ronaldo transfer saga and am starting to think about life without him. Now let me clarify, that I definitely would like him to stay as much as anyone else.

At least for the next two seasons anyway, because I think we have yet to see the best of him, but if he does get to fulfill his dream of playing for Real Madrid, what would be an acceptable deal for you?

I was thinking that in terms of pure cash, the deal would have to be more than the 80 million pounds mark. The amount of money the club could make selling his jerseys and other goods using his image over the next few seasons, must be higher than that figure, so in pure cash terms an acceptable figure for me would be 80 to 100 million pounds.

Then I started thinking what we would do with that money. Are there any players on the planet I would like have in the Man Utd team if money weren't an issue?

Sure!

Here they are:

  • Iker Casillas
  • Peter Cech
  • Sergio Ramos
  • Micah Richards
  • Mickael Essien
  • Franck Ribery
  • Kaka
  • Lionel Messi
  • Fernando Torres
  • Samuel Eto'o
  • Karim Benzema

There are two Madrid players that I would like to see at Old Trafford and they are Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos.

Iker Casillas must be the best goalkeeper in the world alongside Buffon and Sergio Ramos a great defender with excellent positioning.

If Madrid were to offer Man Utd 60 to 70 million pounds plus both of those players in exchange for Ronaldo, I would consider that an acceptable deal and it would soften the blow of losing Ronaldo.

What say you?

im being bold by saying this but i dont believe anyone could replace him, like nobody has ruud, if we were to sell him we would go in a new direction, for example we puldnt just go out and spend millions on a finished article like kaka or messi etc i think if the worst happens we would look at someone like ashley young, maybe even benzema and play a 4-3-3 with rooney tevez and him in the forward line, but as far as big stars comming in that will be as far as it goes for me, i certainly cannot see us doing a trade with real ... along with the fact that ramos and casillas wouldn not want to come here, it's like rooney going there it's just not going to happen :) i dont think he'll go but if the boy comes out and says he wants to go then i believe we have to be looking for 100m or over thats for sure, theres been noboddy as good as ronaldo in my life time ... maybe zidane is close but even he didnt chip in with 40 odd goals did he :)

If Ronaldo left there is only one certainty ...

Life would go on !!

No one man is bigger than this club ...

And they never will be ... I dont care who they are !!

We have had some REAL legends down the
years representing this club and many of them
were better than Ronaldo !!

They left ... and life went on.

Ten years from now the fans will tell you he played on the left,
some will remember how he played on the right ...
but most will remember how that boy Ronaldo,
he made England look ...... not quite right :D

Yes he is a great player but why worry if he leaves ?

Just enjoy the moment ...

if the deal involved real madrid, i'd settle for no less than

£100m straight up + robinho, ramos, casillas, pepe, diarra

just because of the way they've gone about their business.

if anyone else came in for him, maybe barcelona, they can have him for £30m + messi

ROBINHO REVEALS RONALDO PROPOSAL

Real Madrid winger Robinho claims he is part of a proposal which could see Cristiano Ronaldo leave Manchester United for the Bernabeu.

The Brazil international, who says he has also interested Chelsea, is keen to remain in Madrid but concedes he would have "no problem in leaving".

Robinho's remarks, reported by Portuguese newspaper A Bola, contradict numerous statements from United, who have repeatedly said they are not interested in trading Ronaldo.

The Spanish champions declined to comment on Robinho's claims.

The Brazilian said: "There are proposals, yes.

"One is from Manchester United which would be in exchange for Cristiano Ronaldo and the other is from Chelsea."

Robinho played an important role in Madrid's Primera Liga title success last season - scoring 11 goals in 32 league games - but faces an uncertain future under Bernd Schuster.

He added: "I have never hidden my desire to remain at Real Madrid.

"But if the negotiations materialise into something I will have no problem in leaving."

Robinho's comments will increase speculation around Ronaldo, who said on Saturday he will make an announcement on his future in "two to three days".

However, Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon says Robinho is not for sale. Calderon told Marca: "All of Real Madrid's players are coveted and he is no exception.

"But both (coach Bernd) Schuster and (sporting director Pedja) Mijatovic have told me that we shouldn't sell him.

"He's not for sale," he said.-SportingLife

They can start by offering up Ramos & Casilas and then we can do business....or at least Ramos as he seems more likely..

Otherwise they can go to hell, because players like Ronaldo are one in a million.
If they want their own super-star, they can go find some promising youngster, and spend a few years nurturing his talent.

100 million quid + Robinho and Wesley Sneijder and an

LMAO.....nice clause in the contract there! ;)

My view.

  • £60M - £80M + Casillas + Robinho
  • Sell Kusczazk
  • Sell Saha
  • Sell Silvestre
  • Buy Micah Richards
  • Buy Messi

New formation;

------------------------------------------Casillas------------------------------------------
-
---Richards----------------Ferdinand---------------Vidic----------------------Evra---
-
---Hargreaves--------------Scholes-----------------Anderson--------------Messi---
----------------------------------------------Rooney----------------------------------------
-
-----------------------------------------Tevez----------------------------------------------

Bench: Van Der Sar, Carrick, Robinho, Nani, Brown

As Carly said, its not the end of the world "when" Ronnie goes. I'm sick of people
saying "if" he'll go, because we all know that he will leave sometime.

The thing about our attack is, Wayne Rooney starts. Simple as. You don't leave
that sort of talent on the bench. But then there's Tevez who salvaged us so
much last season, (Blackburn, Sporting Lisbon, Tottenham....), so it would be
almost cruel to leave him out, that way, Robinho would find himself on the line.

If we could rob Messi from Barce then that would be absolutely amazing. No
offence to Ronaldo or anything, but Messi's more of a "team player" if you know
what I mean, along with possesing the featherlike skills of Ronaldo. Hargreaves
has won a right wing place next season in my opinion, whether Ronnie stays or
not. He was simply awesome in the Champions League final and could excel on
the wing next season. What a midfield that would be with Scholsey and Ando on
the engine room. Not forgetting the likes of Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick, Ryan
Giggs and Nani on the wings waiting for a chance.

We could also mic it up in the Champions League next year when I hope to God
that Fergie ditches his 4-5-1 formation, although he cut the mustard this time
round. A 4-3-3 in Europe would be very interesting.

------------------------------------------Casillas------------------------------------------
-
----Richards----------------Ferdinand---------------Vidic----------------------Evra---
-
-------------------Hargreaves------------Anderson-----------Messi-------------------
-
-------------Robinho-------------------------------------------------Rooney-------------
-
--------------------------------------------Tevez------------------------------------------

Bench: Van Der Sar, Carrick, Scholes, Nani, Brown

And before you question my line up there, I left out Scholsey purely because
Anderson is younger and would be able to zip around a lot more. If we play 4-4-2
in Europe, then Scholsey is in, no question. What a front three they could be! Eh?

Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is, "when" Ronnie goes, its not like the team
finishes and United are no longer a club! Fergie will deal with this correctly and
TBH, if we got the three players I mentioned above, and the dosh to go with it, I'd
be inclined to accept the offer. Clearly, I'd love Ronnie to stay but there is a line
and that offer would cross it. My mate said to me a while back that we have the
new Henry. I asked, who's that?, and the reply was Ronaldo. He was claiming
that he was beginning to see himself as the main focal point of United. Same way
Henry did at Arsenal. There is truth to it, and if there was a focal point in the team
it should be Scholsey or Rooney.

Just before I finish, a quick look at what the team would be like without Ronnie
and no new signings this Summer.

------------------------------------------Van Der Sar-------------------------------------
-
---Brown-------------------Ferdinand---------------Vidic----------------------Evra---
-
---Hargreaves--------------Scholes-----------------Anderson---------------Nani---
-
---------------------------------------------Rooney----------------------------------------
-
------------------------------------------Tevez----------------------------------------------

Bench: Kusczazk, Carrick, Fletcher, O'Shea, Giggs

Well from that I think a new front man is needed. Notice I'm not saying striker.

Anyways, all will be revealed over the coming days and weeks.

I've got to agree that life will go on without Ronaldo, but less us remember he has told us he is staying as much as the Marca has hinted he is going, plus the fact that SAF is said to be pretty confident he will stay.
Frankly, a deal worth £60-80million plus two world class players will not happen. Its almost laughable to suggest it would. No player is worth a world record transfer free plus two £15-20million+ players.
We all think we should get £100million for Ronaldo should he leave, but the reality is, it will probably be around £60million and we will struggle to get any world class players in to replace him.
I've had the sinking feeling over the past few days that he might just walk away but thats natural when you really don't want something to happen. Lets hope the boy sees sense and stays where he should, because I think he knows that the best club he could be at right now is United, but his dream club is knocking on the door.
Lets hope that he has enough brains to realise that he can fulfil his potential at United over the next few years and then fulfil his dreams at a later date. Madrid will always want him while hes a star, because thats what they do.

Personally I'd hate to see Robinho at OT. He is a selfish player who thinks he is a lot better than he actually is. Sure the lad has talent, but he is very much in the Madrid "galaxy of stars" mould, of which as we have seen over the years, there is no place for at Utd.
He doesnt play for the team, he plays for himself, as he illustrates when he says "he is not that bothered" if he leaves Madrid. I dont know any Madrid fans, but I wouldnt be happy if a Utd player came out with a statement like that.
We could do better than get a player of his attitude at our club.

Nice..... Richards and messi would be yummy. No Casillas?

It is very true that Ronnie is starting to see himself in a very glorified light and has been too selfish.

losing him would not be the end of the world and in fact, might take us to the next level, if we can sign the right players. It's ll about the team.

Even without any new signings we would have a very good team, but I would really like to see Benzema in the red of man Utd. To me he is a future Ballon d'Or winner.
