Strange events these days in the world of the Football League. Whilst the Premiership continues to stagnate in the puss of its own boils, the Football League is throwing up little gems of its own. What about Carlisle?

Only a few short years ago they were performing survival heroics at their own ground to actually stay in the Football League. Remember the exploits of on loan keeper Jimmy Glass? Legend in his own goal area!

Now, they have achieved back to back PROMOTION! League 3 to League 2 - and next season, League 1.

Yeah, it's amazing what they've done this season.

As i'm Irish, i remember Roddy Collins (from Dublin) going in there as manager and making a complete mess of Carlisle, they've come through that now and are doing better since he left!
