Man Utd: Moyes keeping tabs on Saints winger

Southampton winger James Ward-Prowse in action against West Bromwich Albion.

Manchester United manager David Moyes is monitoring the progress of impressive Southampton youngster James Ward-Prowse.

The 19-year-old has been ever-present for the Saints this season, showing plenty of promise on their right flank in what has been a superb start to the campaign for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

United have previously been linked with Southampton's young left-back Luke Shaw as well, and SportsDirect News understands that Ward-Prowse is starting to catch Moyes' eye too.

The Red Devils have often shown a desire to bring through young talent, and with senior wingers such as Ashley Young and Nani all proving inconsistent at best this season, it is no surprise that the former Everton boss is considering other options.

Some big names such as Angel Di Maria and Alexis Sanchez have been linked with moves to Old Trafford, but Moyes may still opt to capture one of the country's latest emerging talents.

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has also been linked with the club after a highly impressive season so far from the 19-year-old England international.

Such a good right foot.
Positively impressed by him this season, I didn't know about him before....

You tell me.
LOL. Well that says everything about England doesn't it. In fact I rather liken the way England play to the way United play. I can't see TC and Welbeck going to Brazil, but Hodgson may have the same belief/philosphy that Moyes has, if they are good enough to play for United then they must be world class, so who knows.

The worst thing is, I genuinely can't name a better English midfielder than Tom Cleverley.

I can't.

I mean.... Gerrard has declined massively (despite what the scousers say, he's shit now - he was all about power and box to box running and he can't do that anymore), Lampard is the same, Jordan Henderson is utter garbage...

Cleverley has at least shown the odd moment of class for England and United.

I'm not saying I think he's a great player. I'm not saying I think he should go to the world cup. But who's better than Cleverley, really?

I've been impressed with Ward-Prowse for the under 21's, when I've watched them - he is a dead ball specialist and has a touch of Beckham about him. But I'm not convinced yet.

Lampard, Gerrard, Wilshere, Barkley, I would even say that Jones is a better midfielder at the moment

Schneiderlin could play for England too apparently.

If he can, him and Carrick would be England's best midfielders then. The way Barry is playing with Everton, he should definitely be going too. Those 3 would be by far England's best midfielders.

Ravel Morrison.
That guy has to go to the WC, I'd ask for Hodgson's head if he doesn't travel with the team to Brazil.
I'd have him playing behind Rooney to be honest.

I'm getting to see more and more from this guy and looks like the real deal. He has to play. If he's good enough, he's old enough, and the guy seems to be more than good enough... Even though I think Hodgson will go for the most experienced ones!
He should be in the squad, that's for sure! At least for me!

Pressure doesn't seem to effect him either. He has an amazing amount of talent, he could easily be a stand out player similarly to what Ozil was in 2010.
