Retired goalkeeper Francisco Molina has revealed that he will never play football again unless Manchester United offer him a contract.

The Spain international is a free agent since his contract with Levante expired at the end of last season.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper did not manage to find a club that suited him, having been linked to Bolton, and decided to see out his career.

The veteran won the 1996 La Liga title with Atletico Madrid and played the major part of his career at Deportivo La Coruna.

The shot-stopper was operated on for testicular cancer during his career but only missed three months before returning to top flight football.

“I am retired, but if Manchester United come…†he told El Pais.

“I did not find a sports project that suits me, I wanted to continue, but not anywhere.

“Levante proposed me to extend my stay but I saw that they did not manage things well so I preferred not to continue with them.

“I want to become a coach and to pass the national diplomas.â€
