Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed they are leaving nothing to chance ahead of their Champions League trip to Dynamo Kiev next week when a win will virtually guarantee their place in the knockout stage following victories over Sporting Lisbon and Roma.

United will make the five-hour flight - with their own chefs and dieticians - a day earlier than normal to ensure they are fully rested for the Group F encounter.

Sir Alex explained: "The travel is always the biggest worry in these situations. Ukraine is further away than most other journeys around Europe.

"Kiev produce good players and the pitch is very large. There's a running track around it and it gives the appearance of being vastly bigger than normal."

we better win... or it could be a repeat of last year, when copenhagen and celtic beat us and we scrapped through to the round of 16

We should win. Travel is nothing. Perth Glory (my first love) sometimes have to travel from the west to NEW ZEALAND. But yes, leaving a day earlier than normal is good.

We should obviously go for the win but I wouldn't mind a draw in Kiev. If we followed that up with a victory against them or Sporting Lisbon at OT then we'd be through.

I just don't want anything resting on our final game in Rome.

At least the team will be fresh and raring to go come next Wednesday with the extra day rest. I said from the start that i think this game will be a draw, But the way we are playing at the moment i would expect us to win this game.

How can they complain about travel. All be sitting in first class accomodation with luxurious seating.... Thats more like fun in my opinion than travel1

I think we'll get 3 points from the game!

i fully expect 3 points here kiev are not half the team they used to be a few years back and should not be feared, respected yes, but not feared, sporting didn't find there game too hard and come away with the 3 points

Lmao, where do you come up with these :D

A point away will do although I expect us to win by one goal.
;)

if we can win these 2 games games against kiev we will of qualified and we can rest some important players for last couple of games saving them for the prem. this will give some of our fringe players some vital experience in europe
