Carlos Tevez, Manchester United's Argentinean striker, has reportedly had his car seized by police after he was found not to possess a full UK driving license.

According to BBC News, Tevez was pulled over by police on the M60 close to Manchester after officers suspected the tinted windows on his Bentley were too dark.

Police reportedly confirmed that the tint was illegal and then subsequently discovered that Tevez did not possess a legal license.

The car, believed to be worth around £140,000, has since been impounded and police have yet to confirm what, if any, punishment the striker will face.

Tevez joined Manchester United in 2007 and, despite enjoying a fine first season as a Red Devil, has struggled in recent months after losing his place in the first team to new signing Dimitar Berbatov.

His future at Old Trafford appears to be in some doubt, particularly as his current
deal at the club expires in the summer. United appear reluctant to sign the player, despite him being a firm favourite with the fans.

Tevez's contractual situation has led to other clubs such as Real Madrid, Inter and Chelsea all being linked with a move for him.

Of course, this is not the first time this season that a Manchester United player has come into trouble on the road.

Team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo hit the news last month after writing his off his brand new Ferrari on the way to training.

The Portuguese player escaped unhurt after crashing into a roadside barrier near Manchester airport and writing off his Ferrari 599 GTB, thought to be worth almost £200,000.
