German legend Lothar Matthaus has tipped United to lift next season's UEFA Champions League.
Having regained the Barclays Premier League title in style last season, United will be looking to achieve further success in Europe next term.
Ex-Bayern Munich star Matthaus, for one, can see Sir Alex Ferguson and his squad celebrating after next May's final in Moscow.
"The troops of Sir Alex Ferguson dominated the Premiership and next season surely they will win him another Champions League," the former Bayern and Internazionale midfielder told Bild.
Matthaus, who himself tasted defeat against United with Bayern Munich in 1999's dramatic Champions League final, feels the Reds possess two key attributes which can see them lift the trophy for a third time.
"They have two qualities that no-one can touch," he said. "They're a young team and one that is improving all the time."
