Modric to Spurs, Lahm to Barca & Flamini to Milan

I've decided to get a head start on the transfer season by mentioning some of the deals that are consider all but done. In other words the deals that are either signed or almost to that point.

Firstly, and perhaps most interestingly, Luka Modric is now a Spurs player.
"And according to The Sun, Tottenham have swooped in to secure the 22-year-old's signature with a ₤20 million offer and a five-year deal."

Secondly it looks like Philipp Lahm will be joining Barcelona next season since Barca deemed Sevilla's asking price for Danny Alves much too high.
"The German club recently withdrew their offer of an extension to the international's contract after his demands were deemed to high. Lahm looks set to be a direct replacement for Gianluca Zambrotta, who is poised to return to his homeland, probably with AC Milan."

So it looks like Lahm will be switching to right back in his big money move. Is it just me or does anybody else not understand why so many big clubs are eager to buy him then play him out of position at right back? He's made his name as one of the best left backs around, so why mess with that? He may be right footed but playing him out right would take away his ability to cut inside and unleash his devastating right footed shot, he won't have the same angle anymore. I don't know he'll probably succeed but I just don't like the idea of him at right back. He'll have to adapt to a whole new style of football while simultaneously trying to adapt to a whole new playing position. It may still be a fullback role but the differences are small but niggling.

Anyhow, finally we come to a money grubbing Frenchman who seems set to leave Arsenal. At the best of times I admire Arsenal's style of play but I can never bring myself to admire their sense of discipline. The mere fact that Wenger is allowing this French floozy to shove him around shows he doesn't stand up to players who deserve it and Matthieu Flamini , French pounce extraordinaire certainly deserves it! Not content with ₤50 000 a week he strove in search of greener pastures which evidently were not to be found in Turin either as Juve weren't willing to stump up for Flamini's high wages. Juve made their offer, Flamini made his counter offer. Juve waited for Flamini to tell them he was joking. He wasn't. If Flamini does that to the team he supported as a child I'd hate to see how he treats teams he hated as a child.
"It seems the main factor in the player's decision may have been the salary offer. While Milan's Adriano Galliani offered €4m-a-year for the player, Juventus transfer chief Alessio Secco was only prepared to give him €3m.

Flamini will sign a five-year contract at San Siro, and could be the first building block of a new, exciting Milan team."
