Last week we had a poll to decide who was NON-MOTM ...

And there were several candidates !!

Seems Ronnie was the winner for this one ...

However yesterday we had several OUTSTANDING performances !!

So who was the best ... ?

anderson first then rooney , very close call though, to be fair nani was good as well .
Fletch, hands down for me. Wazza was great, but we know the special talent he has and his ability to terrify defences. Fletch produced a performance out of the blue. Himself and Carrick were awesome in midfiled and Fletch managed to grab 2 goals for himself, although the first may be taken away!
Rooney must have invented that phrase cometh the hour cometh the man. the man is a genius and as I've said in previous threads he is indisputably our talisman. He made gallas, supposedly the best centre half in world football, second rate.

special mention must go to fletcher, nani and anderson who were all out of this world. The whole team to be fair were magnificent.10-0 would not have done the performance justice.

It wasnt just the reaction from the derby, its just plain to see what difference Rooney makes to this team. ronaldo may have produced more individual moments of skill in terms of goals etc this season but Rooney is still the better player for the team.

boy am i so happy!!!!

As much as I agree with everything you said about Rooney, I cant give him motm purely for the host of chances he missed. Im not trying to take away from his great performance. He led the line superbly and scored a real strikers goal.
But to be fair he could have had 3 or 4.

My man of the match goes to Fletcher. This is an easy enough call for me. As the commentator said he is 'like a man possessed', tackling like a warrior and chasing the Arse players down like dogs. 2 goals and an al round combative, amazing performance. Possibly his best in a United shirt.
Nani also played like a man from another planet. Great goal and 2 fantastic assists along with his all round good play. The Arse players tried to hack him off the ball but he stood strong and courageous in their faces. It was great to see.

It was like we had a team full of Roy Keane's, a total contrast to last weekends limp performance against City.

motm-
1.Fletch
2.Nani
3.Rooney
4.Anderson

fletcher, got to be him. high work rate, nvr stop harassing arsenal, decisive on ball, actually quite a force going forward, scored two goals, what more can u ask for?
I'm in total agreement with Jazz 16, his rankings are just as I'd put it. The only thing I'd add is that I've knocked points off Rooney for picking up yet another stupid and wholy avoidable booking - when will that come back to slap us in the face as he serves out another suspension? Right when we need him I suspect...

Just had a look on the manutd.com poll and Fletcher is in a lowly fifth place there. Ever get the feeling that there are people voting who never even watched the match?...

Im sure Ronaldo probably did better on that poll
wayne underlined just how much we NEED him, we can live without ronaldo not without rooney!
Perm any 1 for 10, so I voted Fletcher; he deserved it.

I cant dispute what you are saying but the performance by the team would not have been possible without rooney. fletcher was possibly more effective in terms of his finishing ratio 100% to wazza's 16% but imo the scouser just shades it on general play.

In saying that how are we going to drop fletch any more from that team. Fergie rates him highly so an unlikely hero may emerge to strengthen our fight on three fronts. He reminds of solskjaer in that he has a fantastic attitude who never complains even if he has been a squad player rather than a first teamer for his entire career.

ForzA FLETCHER:)
i would say there are so many outstanding performers in this game its hard to choose. I've not seen carrick play with such desire in a while, brown was hugely impressive, evra was brilliant going forward and rooney was full of energy and scored a goal.

Fletcher was breaking up anything as soon as arsenal got the ball, like jazz said, the guy was playing like a man possessed.

Nani scored 1 and got 2 assists.

Anderson was easily the best footballer on the pitch in terms of general play, looked another class and thats something considering the talent on the pitch. But no goals or assists i think but he was still the best player on the picth imo.

Its too difficult to choose for me, it would be easy if anderson scored a goal i would give it to him. But since nani had 2 assists and a goal plus the treatment arsenal gave him i'll vote nani, what the hell. Great team performance. Anyone could have took it.

As for the ronaldo comment/comments, i find it interesting on this i sense alot of anti ronaldo vibes. I don't see why ppl try to bring him down alot. "ppl can stop ronaldo, nobody can stop rooney"..."we can live without ronaldo but not without rooney" these type of comments are absurd imo and not very true either. Anyone can be stopped with the right tactics and attention placed on them. Over the last 24 months ronaldo has been much more effective as an individual and for united as a team imo so i don't see how we could cope over a season without ronaldo easily.

Anyway that was going off topic and this is about MOM so for me i chose nani but not because i think he was the best player over 90 minutes but because he had the most end product whilst arsenal were tryiing to kill him, lol.

rooney wasnt that good, he screwed up a few times some of his votes should go to anderson although i voted nani
:) It was a close one with three individuals Rooney Nani Fletcher
But my choice would have to be Rooney:)
So Fletch came in third place....what a joke.
Rooney was awesome but he missed so many sitters, which means he deserves motm
I cant believe Fletch didnt win this....he was by far the best.....mind boggling
