What do we do with him next year?

Obviously CB's are VIDA & RIO

Wes won't play LB are further up the field, so back to RB, where he's played most of the season, and not put (many) feet wrong! Not as good as Gaz goin forward, but Gaz is age-ing, it's taken the best part of a year to sort injury out. Not that Gaz isn't auto number 1 RB, espeically as he is THE captain.

So the question arises? Bench? Or see how they do against each other, comptition is always good for upping a players game. Unless they are mard-ass players who sulk, Drogba-esque. Of which we know Gaz & Wes are not.

Brown has been a reserve to the first choice defence for years. He knows that, he knows that's what happens at United.

Wes will be back-up, he'll get a hell of a lot of games.

Depends if Neville gets back to his old self though.

Very simple,

we put him on the bench, so he can watch more of Gary and see how it's done properly. Simpson can fill in whenever Gary needs a rest, and only if both are incapacitated and Owen Hargreaves is too busy with his hair, Fergie can let him have a run out.

He shouldn;t be too disappointed, the 60k a week will take care of that.

Wow, you really don't rate him do you.

Suprising that. You annoyed that he could have done more with his assist for Ashton today? Ha. Seriously didn't think anyone would think that lowly of him.

i say rotation. doubt gary has the legs to carry him through a whole season, simpson can observe both of them learning from brown's mistakes and not repeating them. :D but i have to admit, brown has been tremendous this season. especially against barca.

Suppose then, what to do with Gaz? Has he had another set back by the way?
As far as I am aware no, he has had no further injury set backs.

I think there are a few reasons for Gary not being back in the first team at this moment in time. One reason being we simply cannot afford to put anyone in the team who would not be on form. I'm not saying Gary would be a passenger, but we need results now, and have to play our strongest team whenever possible. After being out for over a year  Gary may not be able to get back into things straight away, and it doesn't look like SAF is willing to risk it.

Another reason I think is that United don't want to rush Gary back, and risk him getting injured again. If he can train now until the summer, then get a full pre-season under his belt, we will hopefully see the real Gary Neville back, and ready to lead the team out for the start of the 2008/09 season.

nevs finished face it . mr united has done his time . we should employ him on matchday to lead the cheerleaders as nobody comes near nev for love of the club . wes should play rb or cb as reserve . we need proper cover there . he is not far off vidic at cb so can step in if he or rio get injured

Wes Brown is one of the best tacklers in the league, and when he tackles he tackles hard and strong. And legal too.

Out of natural position all season. He's amazing and red through and through.
here here . he also seems to have cut out the silly errors . red from birth our wesley lets not forget that . he was also around in 99 and that experience is priceless

I'm highly unsure of Wesley tbh.

As much as he's been solid this season, a lot of that credit must be down to the fact he's been laying alongside Rio and Nemanja. He certainly wouldn't be my first choice RB.

He'd be a good Sheasy type, can come on and play CB or RB if and when it's needed, or in games of lesser importance.

If Gary was to become our first choice again for next season, I'd like to see SAF go for someone like Rafinha to replace him for the following season.

It'll be hard to see Gary go, however. Who'll get at the Scousers like he does? :D
