Do you think its because during the refrain, everyone goes "ba dah bum bad duh bum ba da da da da da da" ? Btw, spelling that out was weird, but I rather like Italy's national anthem, I actually learned the words to be honest.
Yeah Zuco, I agree, the US National Anthem is best when sung by a powerful voice, but I hate it when people try to do a remix of the song. Just sing it how it's meant to be, not make a rap out of it...
Shivers watching that and seeing the big man crying.
^^agreed keano. Im happy the Irish fans didnt jeer the English anthem.
First time it was played there ever. Most wouldnt know about the history and
the killings that went on there.
I love 'Ireland's call' as well. Its class.

....the debates on TV/Radio and other media in Ireland leading up to that game were incredible!! I was at it, stood in the Canal end and it was something amazing!!
I'm taking a stab in the dark here, no pun intended , but I'd have guessed that 90+% of English Rugby fans thought it was all about playing the "rival" anthem in the countrys national sporting stadium for its own national game, Gaelic Football...
Great moment! Think it was voted Best Sporting Moment of 2008 on RTE a while back...
I have the full game build-up, match, and post match stuff downloaded and saved in my iTunes library...
...3 hours and 21 minutes long... its brilliant!
PS. Just think I should point out that Ireland actually won the game that day, after
having the win robbed from them there against France in the previous match...
Damn, that's awesome. The Irish crowd always sounds fantastic during the Six Nations, that's really the only time I see Croke Park. And uhhhhhh, why was it so emotional for them to be playing God Save the Queen?
