Neville won’t make Ole testimonial

Injury will force Gary Neville to miss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s testimonial match against RCD Espanyol at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Neville is hoping to return to action this season after missing almost the entire 2007/08 campaign with various injuries.

The 33-year-old defender has picked up a slight calf strain, but Sir Alex Ferguson explained on Friday that he expects to have the club captain available for selection when the Reds take on Juventus at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney, who have both been suffering with a virus this week, should recover in time to face Espanyol.

that's it - i've had it with him - sell him ASAP !!!!!!!

now before you all jump on me - do you see how i feel when people say these sorts of things for Saha....
Mate you just read my mind! I really love Saha and I would actually like him to stay and when he gets back to full fitness, Rooney, Tevez, Saha & Berbatov will be a good strike force

Neville Neville Neville what shall we do with him?? I feel sorry for him....It will start to become a mental injury if he doesnt get back on his feet soon.
And for saha, he could be the best sriker in the world by now if he wasnt plagued by injurys in his OLD TRAFFORD career...hes top class...with out the top fitness though....

Much as it annoys me to say it ....

But I think he's finished now ...

I said this mid season last year ...

Wes did a brilliant job last year ...

We conceded the least in the whole league so our back four is OK.

I hope he does get back but I don't hold out much hope for him.

I guess this puts the Brown vs Neville thread to bed? (for now at least)
A Brown vs Hargreaves poll thread would be most mouthwatering. ;)

I can see one group insisting Hargreaves is more suited and natural as a midfielder and another group insisting Hargreaves plays better than Brown as RB....

......?? ;)

Bad news :(

I'm just really hoping that it isn't anything too serious and Gary will be back on his feet soon. After being out for so long, and at his age it is unavoidable that Gary will pick up knocks like this now.

On the bright side if SAF said he expects Nev to play in the game against Juve, it can't be anything major.

lol, you dont give up. We will see how the season starts and pans out
and if such a poll is needed, it will happen ;)

Anyway, we need to have faith in our captain. He will be back in some capacity.
