Some of my freinds have been saying that they heard that Newcastle will so be in administration on the radio. They supposedly cant afford the players' wages any longer. This would mean that they could fallow the exact same path as Leeds United. I dont believe this as the radio isnt a really reliable source, but has anyone else heard anything about this?

I think your friends are referring to the comments made by the Wigan chairman, Dave Whelan, on the radio. They were discussing this on Sunday Supplement on Sky Sports.

It only really becomes an issue for Newcastle if they are relegated. Apparently none of the players have relegation clauses written into their contracts so they would all be on the same wages if they go down.

Relegation would also halve the value of the club to around £100m. It would be a catastrophic situation for Mike Ashley.

Oryt a see. Well even so the way things are looking, even with Shearer, that could happen.
