Agent: Roma Could Have Inside Track On Fabio Quagliarella
http://www.goal.com/en/news/1709/roma/2009/02/09/1101609/agent-roma-could-have-inside-track-on-fabio-quagliarella

The agent of Fabio Quagliarella has listed Rome as a possible destination for his client, but insists no deal is certain yet...

Giuseppe Bozzo, the agent of Fabio Quagliarella, Marco Motta and Simone Perrotta spoke to LaRoma24.it about his clients' situations on Tuesday.

Udinese striker Quagliarella is enjoying another successful season, having scored eight goals in league play and recently been called-up for the international friendly with Brazil.

"It's obvious the player is hungry to join a bigger club,†revealed Bozzo, after denying he has had contact with Roma regarding the 26-year-old. “Fabio is a player of great quality and many clubs want him. However, it's too early to speak about any deals after the winter transfer window just closed."

However, he did hint that Roma may have the best chance of landing the former Sampdoria player, due to the two clubs already making a deal for defender Marco Motta.

"Let's say they've already managed to sit at the same table and made an agreement, it's certainly a positive sign and can facilitate future transactions,†he stated. “However, I wouldn't say Quagliarella is going to Rome yet."

Meanwhile, midfielder Simone Perrotta is in the midst of contract negotiations with the Giallorossi and the agent expects a successful outcome. "The player wants to bind himself to Rome until the end of his career,†claimed Bozzo. “Assume [the contract will last] until 2012.â€

Perrotta is also among Marcello Lippi's call-ups for the friendly match against Brazil on Tuesday.

Bayern's Ribery Could Join Real Madrid In The Summer - Beckenbauer
http://www.goal.com/en/news/1705/real-madrid/2009/02/09/1101313/bayerns-ribery-could-join-real-madrid-in-the-summer-beckenbauer

Franck Ribery could join Real Madrid in the summer if he really wants...

Franz Beckenbauer has announced that Franck Ribery could leave Bayern Munich and join Real Madrid in the summer if the player himself really wants to make the move to the Bernabeu.

The Bavarian giants' president is realistic about his club's ability to hold on to the highly sought-after winger and admits that it could be difficult to keep him.

Madrid have been linked with Ribery with Florentino Perez rumoured to be considering asking Zinedine Zidane to try and persuade him to move to the club should he win the presidency.

"Ribery can go to Madrid if he wants.," Beckenbauer told German radio station, Premiere

"Bayern will do everything to retain his services, but while he has a contract until 2011, he can go before.

"Clubs cannot keep players against their will because the players are the ones that always end up winning that battle.

"So, if he really wants to go to Madrid, why not?"

Blues plan significant squad shuffle
Blues plan significant squad shuffle | Latest News | Football News from TEAMtalk

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has warned there will be big changes at the club next season, with the playing squad set for a major overhaul.

Buck has revealed as many as up to five players could leave, with five new faces possibly coming in.

The Blues supremo insists money will be made available by Roman Abramovich in the summer for the right players, even though the club would prefer to raise money for signings by offloading some stars.

"We haven't properly got together to talk about summer transfers yet, but I think that we could expect that several players will leave and that several players will come in," Buck told the Daily Mirror.

"I don't know whether that is three, four or five, but something in that kind of neighbourhood, so we can expect a handful to leave.

"We'd like to use internally generated cash to buy new players - and by that I mean sell players and buy new players.

"But of course if an appropriate player comes, then money would be made available from the owner to buy him."

Chelsea caretaker boss Guus Hiddink is willing to offer his advice on potential signings even though he insists he will not remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season

"I'm not involved in those strategic discussions, but if I can be of any help, I'm not saying no," said Hiddink.

"I have been here now and have these relations, but I'm not here to have discussions as to which way to go."

Reds eye up Valencia ace
Sky Sports | Football | Primera Division | News | Reds eye up Valencia ace

Albiol attracting Benitez's interest

Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Spain international Raul Albiol, skysports.com understands.

The Valencia defender is rated amongst the best in La Liga, but money problems at The Mestalla could see them lose a number of their top stars.

And Albiol may be one of the first to depart with a host of clubs checking on his progress.

Real Madrid are long-term admirers of the 24-year-old, who can play in central defence or as a holding midfielder, but Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has now dispatched his scouting network to follow Albiol.

Albiol is currently contracted to Valencia for another two years and has a huge buy-out clause of nearly £50million - although reports in Spain now suggest they could be willing to do a deal at £13million.

Valencia's sporting director Fernando Gomez has admitted the club would have to consider any reasonable offers, and also confirmed they were aware of scouts from Liverpool tracking Albiol.

"Today it is necessary to study each offer that we receive and after that we would decide," he told skysports.com.

"The money situation is complicated at the club, but formally nobody has spoken with us about Abiol.

"But we are aware that the Reds have been scouting around here in recent months."

Diego Wants To Swap Werder Bremen For Juventus - Agent

Diego Wants To Swap Werder Bremen For Juventus - Agent

Diego's father and agent, Djair da Cunha, has revealed that his son has his heart set only on Juventus as he tries to negotiate a summer move to the Turin giants.

The Bianconeri are keen on Werder Bremen's ace and negotiations over a deal are expected to start in the near future. Diego is seen as the ideal replacement for Pavel Nedved, who has already announced his retirement.

Voices in Turin have suggested a deal will take place soon and Diego's father has added weight to those rumours.

"Diego wants Juventus and he would win the Ballon d'Or in the Bianconeri jersey," he told Tuttosport.

"It's such a big satisfaction knowing that all the Juve fans admire him and I would be really happy if the deal with Werder Bremen makes progress.

"My son dreams about playing for a club that wins in Europe."

Although Juventus are favourites to land the midfielder, the agent has warned the Italians that they face some tough competition.

"There are plenty of clubs interested in him, especially from England and Spain," he explained.

Diego’s father is currently in Europe, but he is expected to go back to Brazil in May. Juve should know more on the player's availability by then.

It's destination Turin for Diego as far as his father is concerned, but will Juve take the hint?

Report: Carlos Kameni May Leave Espanyol For Bayern Munich
Report: Carlos Kameni May Leave Espanyol For Bayern Munich

The hunt for the Cameroon No. 1's signature continues, and FC Hollywood seem to be closing in on his capture...

Currently a player for Espanyol, a side that is dangerously close to relegation in La Liga despite last week’s victory over hometown rivals Barcelona, goalkeeper Carlos Kameni may be signing for Bayern Munich, who are still not satisfied with their replacement of legendary ex-skipper Oliver Kahn.

It was widely believed that as soon as the season ended in Spain Kameni would join the Premier League since he refused a proposition by the Spanish club to stay four more seasons at the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium. English outfits Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Fulham were reportedly very interested in the Indomitable Lion.

Now Kameni himself has been quoted as saying that he would enjoy the challenge of the Premier League after five seasons in Spain with the Blanquiblaus.

The 25-year-old may be well advised to take a look at the Bavarians’ proposition, as they are known to be serious contenders for the Champions League every season.

His mentor and coach at Espanyol, Cameroonian legend Thomas Nkono, said that his protégé would definitely take his time to pick the best club for his future. Some rumours have him heading off to archrivals Barcelona, since Victor Valdès seems to be less and less comfortable with the Blaugrana.

In any case, the Douala native will be a hot commodity in this summer’s Mercato.

This could be the most ridiculous piece of journalism ever or just another example of how clueless real Madrid's directors are at running a football club.

Great thread!! RFRA always keeping everyone aware of all thats happening worldwide!

I think this summer in terms of transfers will be very interesting. Chelsea will spend because the squad is old and when fergie mentions it and if they dont win anything this season hopefully lol, then they'll have no option but to get rid of players and get new ones to stay relavent.

Liverpool will spend again imo, each year under rafa now they will try and make a few big signings to get closer to us, we'll see who they get.

Arsenal will have no choice but to spend and get some more arshavin standard players in to compete because they will not want to be competeing for fourth spot again.

Then you have the likes of spurs, villa and mancity and co who will all want to spent.

The abroad it'll be interesting to see what juve/inter/milan but there is always excitement about the purchases of barcelona and madrid so you'll have to keep us informed on them two clubs rfr!

As for ourselves, i'm not sure!

That sounds right.

Last summer was not very exciting for me, but this summer is gonna be a block-buster for transfers.

Man City is going to go crazy, Chelsea's Steve Buck has already announced that they're gonna overhaul and Arsenal really need at least two very good centre halves and a left winger.

If we can only sign one player this summer, I really hope it will be Ribery!

Spanish giants to trial Kagawa
Japanese international pitches up at Barca and Madrid

Sky Sports | Football | Primera Division | News | Spanish giants to trial Kagawa

Japan's rising star Shinji Kagawa is set for trial stints with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

According to reports in the Far East, the 20 year-old is considering offers to train with the Primera Liga giants, subject to approval from his club Cerezo Osaka.

"The Spanish league is my favourite. The attacking mentality suits my style," Kagawa said on Nikkan Sports.

"My dream is to play in the Champions League one day, so this is a great opportunity."

The skilful midfielder made his debut for the national team last May and has gone on to earn eight more caps for the Blue Samurai.

Regarded as the country's top young talent, Kagawa is backed by Cerezo club president Nobuyoshi Fujita to make it big in Europe.

"We will definitely consider any offers that we believe will benefit him," he said.

"It is a dream of his to play overseas. He has our full support."

Besides Barcelona and Real, Espanyol and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly monitoring the player's progress.

Inter lead Milito chase
Agent holds talks with Nerazzurri over Genoa striker
Sky Sports | Football | Serie A | News | Inter lead Milito chase

Diego Milito's agent has hinted that Inter Milan are in pole position to sign the Genoa striker.

Milito has turned in a number of eye-catching performances for Genoa this season and netted 19 league goals from 29 appearances.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and agent Fernando Hidalgo recently admitted there had been plenty of interest.

Hidalgo has reiterated that a number of English clubs are monitoring his situation, but feels a switch to Inter could be more likely.

Milito's representative spoke with Nerazzurri officials on Wednesday and believes there may be further developments as soon as the Serie A campaign ends.

"He has had a lot of requests and he has already shown his value," Hidalgo told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Official interest

"I had a meeting with Inter yesterday where I've got an official interest for him, but the player is still under contract with Genoa.

"It is an important phase of the Italian League and for this reason we don't want to disturb my client's mind by talking now of numbers, sums and contracts.

"I agreed with Inter officials that at the end of the league we will have to meet to define the details. Milito would be a good help for (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic."

Hidalgo added. "Anyway, I must say there are other sides who have spoken with me: other Italian and foreign clubs. But it's normal with Inter there is a privileged relationship."

Newcastle manager Alan Shearer has labelled reports on Friday stating striker Michael Owen will retire at the end of the season as "ludicrous".

The 29-year-old has not scored since 10 January and was recently left out of the starting XI to face Liverpool and substituted against Middlesbrough.

"He doesn't need it, doesn't deserve it," said Shearer.

"The stories out are totally ludicrous and untrue as far as he's concerned, and he has laughed them off."

Temporary manager Shearer, whose team moved out of the bottom three last Monday with victory over Boro, has backed his former England and Newcastle team-mate to start finding the net again.

"Go out and score goals - the player has always got the last opportunity to go out and do the business on the football pitch," he added, ahead of Saturday's game against Fulham.

"He always has the chance to have the last laugh. My mind will never change with Michael Owen - if you give him chances, eventually he will score goals, I have no doubt about that."

Owen is out of contract at St James' Park at the end of the season and Shearer did not provide any clues to whether the former Liverpool and Real Madrid player would sign a new deal with the Magpies.

Shearer added: "I am 100% certain he will have a future in the Premier League.

"But as to where that will be, here or elsewhere, that's for a discussion at the end of the season."

Owen signed for Newcastle in August 2005 for a club record fee of £16m.

Since then the striker has been plagued by problems, including breaking a metatarsal bone, knee ligament damage at the 2006 World Cup, undergoing a double hernia operation and a thigh injury.

This season, Owen, with 10 goals in all competitions during the campaign, has featured more regularly although an ankle injury and groin operation forced the forward to miss five games.

The forward, who is widely reported to be earning more than £100,000-a-week at St James' Park, has made 65 appearances for the Magpies and scored 30 goals in four seasons.
