I know its undisclosed but, how much do you think we sold him for. Unproven Walcott cost 12M. How much is Rossi???
Walcott cost £5m, the rest depends on success and apperances.

Rossi's fee is rumoured to be around £7m, remember we brought him in in 2004 for few hundred thousand pounds so its a great deal financially but the kid deserved a chance IMO.

The best talent to come out of our youth system in years. If he couldnt make it then I dont know what to say about the rest of the academy system.

Despite his physical limitations, he had the technical ability to succeed. I believe he did, and I felt he showed glimpses of that ability for us and certainly at Parma. Strength and pace is not mandatory to do well in the Premiership, although certainly helpful, an abundence of technical ability can more than make up for the lack of natural physicality. Zola was an example of that, and I feel Rossi could have done well for us.

BUT I understand SAF's reasoning. With Rooney, Saha, and in all likelihood Tevez as well, Rossi's chances are limited. He needs games and he wouldn't get that with us whereas he will for Villareal. I wish him success and I believe he will prove his class in La Liga. Good luck Rossi.

I agree with everything except the last bit. You've mentioned 3 strikers, one of those injury prone. You can't win the Premiership with 3 strikers. Rossi would have got games, He has proven himself in the reserves and everyone knew what his abilities were. But still best of luck to him.
