If you could clone one player (same physique, abilities, experience, etc.)
to make up your starting XI, who would you pick in order to make the best team possible?

1)Name a current United player.
2)Name a former United player.
3)Any current player from any team (non-United)
4)Any former player from any team (non-United)
Go!

1)Name a current United player. Rooney
2)Name a former United player. Edwards
3)Any current player from any team. Hate to say it but Steven Gerrard  He can pass,
tackle, shoot, he's the best all round player I can think of at the moment.

4)Any former player from any team. Zico

Hate to say it but good call on Gerrard.

1)Name a current United player.
Im between Rio and Rooney. We know they both love playing in goals.
Rooney can play pretty much anywhere in fairness to him, but with Rio he
could play the long ball to himself :p and dominate the field of play.
2)Name a former United player.
Gotta be Edwards really. Could play anywhere. Honourable shout out to Keane, McGrath and Robson as well.
3)Any current player from any team (non-United)
Gerrard was a good call above as I have said but I think Essien would be the man.
11 Essien's would pee all over 11 anybody else imo.
4)Any former player from any team (non-United)
Ooh tough question Jazz
Id say Ruud Gullit would be awesome. He was big, strong, quick could play in
midfield, attack and he could tackle also so he would be beastly in defence.
Shout out to Lothar Mattheus and Maradona. If you had 11 Maradona's you
wouldnt have to worry about defending :p

1)Name a current United player. Ryan Giggs - In the 90s he was a God amongst peasants.
2)Name a former United player. George Best
3)Any current player from any team (non-United) Karim Benzema - Fascinating player.
4)Any former player from any team (non-United) - Alan Shearer. I know ..... could have gone for many greats, but I always wondered how awesome Man Utd would have been with Shearer in he team. Maradona, Zidane & van Basten playing in their prime for United also would give me a boner. ;)

1)Name a current United player- Rooney, although Ferdinand pushes him in my opinion. Rooney's apparent goalkeeping skills win it for me.

just a thought-if ronaldo was playing with 10 other ronaldos, would he be playing with himself (i know the innuendoes are there, i couldnt think of another way to rephrase). i ask because if ronaldo was the only player in the team, i think he'd quite enjoy it and might actually put a bit more effort in. and there's no doubt he has the physique and the control to play all over.
hm, maybe i took the light hearted concept too far, but oh well.

2)Name a former United player-Duncan Edwards- never was lucky enough to see him play, but the thing that my grandad (sorry to make any of you feel old :D) says about him is that he could play any position on the pitch and be the best player in each

3)Any current player from any team (non-United)- would probably say essien. not sure about him as a striker, but he's a machine and has played most positions already.
4)Any former player from any team (non-United) - from what i've seen/heard, it would be Duncan Edwards again.

for number 4), my mistake. i saw a rooney, edwards, rooney, edwards up there and must have got myself muddled.
would probably say Figo

Did you not get this thread either RFR?
Its 11 of the same player. 1 for each position. Which 'team' would be the best?
cos Giggs would be useless in goal and in defence.
11 Rooneys>11 Giggs.

Edit: Adam- For number 4 its a non United player so you cant pick Edwards.

You go wash your mouth with soap right now, young man! Ryan Giggs in the 90s could walk on water, end world hunger and hold a conversation with abo!

BTW, John O'shea can play in defense, score goals against the scum and save enalties from Robbie Keane, so he should be in with a shout :D

I think you're missing the point of the thread. You're picking a player that you would
want in every position on the pitch. Would you want Ronaldo in defence or in goal?

I certainly wouldn't.

3)Any current player from any team (non-United) Ballack for me. Might be a ***** but good passer, can score, stron, tall, good tackler, and I;d say he'd be a decent keeper! :p
4)Any former player from any team (non-United) Pele...he'd play every position at once ad make saves in goal like those acrobatic ons with his feet! ;)
