Three words Marie - Mates, Victims, Pleasure 
"Online Community" is a word used often to try and make a website seem like a better place when in reality only a handful of real Online Communities exist.
Online Communities start out well but are quickly bogged down by the masses of idiots flooding the internet with there stupidity. This website is a prime example of a website turning from a high quality information/discussion source to a slithering ball of trite. 7/10 posts I see are utter (deleted) with little or no knowledge about the subject in hand and severe issues or bais towards one opinion.
In conclusion, the internet is ruined by idiots so any kind of rewarding community must be closed to idiots, however this is impossible. Sigh.

Edit: I do not believe there is any such thing.
If people stand talking at a bus stop, are they a community? I think not, they go their separate ways and never think about who they have just seen or spoken to. Thats life, ships in the night etc. When I am gone, nobody will remember me in a couple of years time.
