OWEN Hargreaves insists he's ready to kick start his Manchester United career after recovering from his latest injury setback.

The England midfielder has had a difficult start to life at Old Trafford since his £17m move from Bayern Munich in the summer.

A persistent knee injury has limited him to only four appearances for the champions - his latest coming against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

But after coming through 66 minutes of the 4-1 win, he declared himself fit and ready to live up to his lofty reputation and price tag.

Hargreaves said: "I felt a bit stiff and sore afterwards, but that happens with injuries like this.

"It has been a frustrating time, very stop and start."

Hargreaves has struggled to shake tendonitis of the knee since before Sir Alex Ferguson swooped for him in the summer.

As well as disrupting his United career, it has also seen Gareth Barry take his place in the England team.

But he insists he is confident the problem has now cleared up.

"I have spoken to a lot of doctors and specialists who have explained it is not really a problem with the knee, it is more a structural problem," said Hargreaves.

"I have been trying to play through it but it has been difficult at times.

"Now I am fit, I just want to try to remain that way for the rest of the season."

let's all hope so...we'll benefit in away matches for his play breaking skills----
