It's billed as one of the games of the season and what a game we could have in prospect.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea will have to do without the services of captain, John Terry
(Suspended)
for the visit of the champions, while Didier Drogba could
see a return to action after completing a successful night with the Chelsea
reserves a few nights ago.

United will be without Nemanja Vidic (Suspended), Michael Carrick
(Injured), although the Champions could see the return of winger,
Cristiano Ronaldo
on Sunday lunchtime.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea have outscored United considerably so far this season netting 9 times
against United's 4, also conceading fewer then the Red Devils with only 2 against
them to United's 5. (ALL competitions)

Chelsea will be looking to maintain their incredible home record on Sunday but
revenge will be on the cards as United were left licking their wounds after a
bruising encounter with the Londeners at the bridge last time out.

Last seasons meetings;
Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea (Old Trafford, Premier League)
Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United (Stamford Bridge, Premier League)
Manchester United (6)1-1(5) Chelsea (Luzhniki Stadium, Champions League Final)

I say YES, in hope of him playing. I was one of the one's who were adamant that we didn't NEED him as much as everyone thought we did, but we really are in need of him at the moment, we just lack something i don't what maybe width ... oh thats it .. goals :p

I'd go for (if he starts from the out set)

VDS

Neville Brown Ferdinand Evra

Ronaldo Scholes Hargreaves Nani

Rooney

Berbatov

Prediction with that team - 1-1, but i really can't see us winning this one :(

how can you not have Tevez in has been our best player so far

Agree with you firmly Marty. Tevez has to start. Even though I love Wayne to bits I say drop him. I think he's lost that attacking flair which he used to possess in abundance . Sad, very sad....

VDS ?

Owen Rio Vida Evra

Ronaldo Scholes Anderson Nani

Tevez
Berba

I agree, but I think SAF should give Rooney a chance in his best position behind the striker. Berbatov should play he used to play well against Chelsea with Spurs if I'm right and I think we would be better using a n out and out striker against Chelsea, especially with Terry and Carvalho at the back who are both very good headerer's of the ball and if we use Berba we will have an aerial threat unlike with Tevez. Although I think Tevez will start with Roo, hope Berba does.

It'll be interesting if Ferguson gives Evans a run in place of Vidic. I doubt this will happen though, in such a big game. It's a big blow to lose Vidic, especially for this game - where its likely Drogba will start. Vidic is one of the very few defenders that can destroy Drogba even if Drogba's on form.

I hope he goes with

Van Der Sar
Hargreaves Ferdinand Brown Evra
Park Scholes Anderson Nani
Tevez
Berbatov

Subs: Foster, Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs, O'Shea, Evans, Fletcher

If needed, Ronaldo on for Park. Hopefully Rooney being left on the bench will fire him up and if/when he comes on will run riot.

EDIT: I'm going for the weekend in Scotland! Fergie will pick:

Van Der Sar
Neville Ferdinand Brown Evra
Hargreaves Scholes Anderson Giggs
Tevez Rooney

Im quite interested to see what fergie will do as well. he has options thats for sure.
I wouldnt be surprised if he put O'Shea in there or Evans. They were both
immense at centre back for their countries last week.
He could move Brown across and give Neville a chance or Hargreaves or even
young daSilva, although the latter would be very unlikely, especially in such a
big game.
Its great to know we have such options but Im more concerned about the midfield
tbh and I really hope Ronaldo is back cos we are missing that **** BIG time.

Terry has been cleared to play against United after his 3 match ban was overturned. This means that Chelsea successfully argued that the challenge was not even worthy of a yellow card.
That's a joke. It was AT LEAST a yellow card. Typical Chelsea getting all the decisions though so I'm not surprised in the slightest.

I can't see us winning this one anyway. I think a draw is the most we can hope for and I fear Fergie will set his formation
to acheive this. Which means we'll be playing 4-5-1/4-3-3.

I'd much rather see us playing 4-4-2 with a couple of wingers and two strikers. And i think our only hope of a result is
if Ronaldo is back. I hate to sound like a pessimist but Stamford Bridge really is a fortress and their four year unbeaten
home record is unbelievable.

If anyone can break long unbeaten runs though, it's us
