The Hammers Midweek Visit To The "Theatre of Dreams!"

Notes
  • United go into this game with most players returning from injury. However,
    Paul Scholes (Knee) remains sidelined
  • West Ham are without 4 men including, Ashton (Os Trigonum Syndrome),
Gabbidon (Pelvis Injury), Spector (Thigh Injury), Dyer (Broken Leg)
  • Wayne Rooney is 1 goal away from his 100th League goal (Everton &
    Manchester United
    )
  • West Ham last beat United at Old Trafford 2 seasons ago when Tevez scored
    the winner.

Form
Manchester United have gone a good run of late in all competitions yet only
managed a draw away to Everton after a lacklustre display last Saturday. United
have however managed a goal in every league game so far this season and
remain unbeaten at Old Trafford in the League since bitter rivals Man City won 2-1
on February 10th 2008

West Ham United aren't in a great run of form so far this season and have
failed to keep a clean sheet in any competition thus far. In 4 away league games
so far this season, the Hammers have only scored 4 goals and the only win came
at Fulham.

Previous Results
At Old Trafford ('07/'08) - Manchester United 4-1 West Ham United
At Upton Park ('07/'08) - West Ham United 2-1 Manchester United

Key Players

Manchester United - Ryan Giggs is showing that if you have it, you never loose it
these days. Its appeared that the Welshman has been given a new role at United
in the center of the park and he's beginning to show some of his magical best
since moving from the left wing. Giggs has been a part of many United attacks
and goals this season making crucial passes from the middle of the field. He also
holds the acclaim of being the only man to score in every Premier League campaign
since its start-up, and he'll be looking to continue his rich tradition.

West Ham United - Matthew Upson is the leader at the back now after the
departure of Ferdinand. The Englishman has played every minute of the season
so far for the Hammers and if it weren't for him, West Ham could see a few more
goals in the conceded column. He'll have to be on top form to deal with United's
attacking abilities at Old Trafford.

I love mid week games. Delighted we have a home game so soon.
I was there last time we played the Hammers at home and we minced them.
Lets hope for a repeat performance. Hopefully Carrick will be back for this.
Our strikers need to get his service asap.

I think this will be the team:

At least we have two home games to make up for today , its always good to have a game straight after a dissapointing performance , on paper we should win without too much trouble , but they all said that about everton , you just never know .
I would just settle for the three points no matter how we get them

I think Tevez will definitely start this game. Players are always up for it when they play against one of their former clubs.

Since Rooney was taken off against Everton I'd start him too. He'll be well rested and will hopefully show the form he had prior to the trip to Goodison.

We need to bounce back quickly from dropping points on Saturday, especially since our next 2 league games are against 2 teams above us in the table - Hull and Arsenal.

The First of two, must win home games at all cost, no reason why we can't win both either, two fairly average teams, Hull will be full of confidence though, anyway lets leave that for the weekend.

We will win against West Ham, whether or not we will batter them is another story, that doesn't matter though, a win is only important at the end of the day.

Don't see West Ham scoring myself, plus Carlton Cole is out, Di Michele could provide a threat though.

We should have enough to get a comfortable win.

Prediction - Man u 2-0 W ham

Ronaldo, Berbatov

UP THE REDS!!!!

Also, anyone know of anywhere i can get a decent steam without having to download anything, when i say decent i mean fairly ok picture, but more importantly no constant buffering

any help would be brill,

Cheers fellow reds :D

I think we should line-up like this:

VDS
Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra
Fletcher, Anderson, Giggs, Nani
Rooney, Berbatov.

Carrick might be back in contention, but Fergie is usually reluctant to throw them right back into the mix, so half an hour should be enough for him. Anderson, Nani and Fletcher to provide the energy in midfield with Giggs taking his usual centre midfield role. Ronaldo was awful on saturday, so I'd bench him personally. Tevez might start ahead of Rooney or Berbatov but they're doing well together so I'd like them to get some more games.

My team vs West Ham tommorow:

-------------------------------------VDS------------------------------------------

--Brown--------------Rio-----------------------Vidic-----------------Evra--

--Ronaldo----------Fletcher-----------------Carrick--------------Nani--

------------------------Tevez--------------Rooney------------------------

SUBS: PIG, Neville, O'Shea, Rafael, Anderson, Park, Berbatov

2 games in a week is probably too much for Giggs, so I've left him out completely. Tevez HAS to start IMO, and after the Evertone match we need to get Rooney firing again as soon as possible. I didn't really want to start Nani either after his poor showing when he came on but IMO Park has beem showing very little quality when he's played this season.

I put Carrick in as he needs games and I think it would be better for him if he played 60 minutes vs West Ham, then 20 minutes vs Hull and then another 60 minutes in the next game.

Fletcher really has forced us to pick him as he's been brilliant recently IMO.
