First home win, how'd you assess the players performances?
Here's my outlook on the team's display...
Van Der Sar - 7 - Practically nothing to do. Almost caught ot in the first half, yet
managed to deal with everything he needed to. Did well on corners and crosses
aswell for a change which is a great sign
Neville - 9 - Back to his best? He was incredible...tackle....tackle...crosss...tackle
and on and on. Showed great awareness, perfect timing in the challenges and
crossed well, most of the time. Also managed a very neat back-heal to Rio in the
second half! Very good display from our captain
Ferdinand - 8 - Solid. What more can I say? Seems to fancy himself as a
midfielder/forward recently as he made a great run or two today and also found
himself in shooting positions on a few occasions almost managing to squeeze one
in. Does he ever have a bad game?
Vidic - 7 - Again, super really. A bit quiet, but he'd nothing really to do. Did his job
well, and that's all that matters in the end.
Evra - 9 - This kid is incredible! His link-up play with Rooney and others is magical!
Great balance, great touch, super passing, lovely skills and a great brain for the
game. Easily the best left back in the world right now.
Ronaldo - 6 - Dived...moaned...lost the ball...step over...dived....scored a penalty
(Totally undeserved one too)...subbed
Fletcher - 7 - I think he's a super asset. Great engine. All round tidy player
Anderson - 6 - Not one of his better days. Heavy touches and bad decisions at
times. Just a bit edgy for me today
Park - 7 - Probably the most underrated player at the club right now. Huge player
for these sort of games...
Tevez - 6 - Lacked something today. Not quite sure what though. Tried hard but it
never happened for him. He can do better
Berbatov - 8 - We saw the ability of him today. Almost scored a great header, and
gave some great passes in the second half. Great touch and deserves his first
United goal
Scholes - 9 - How he bossed the game after coming on. Should have bagged a
goal too. He's a true legend and fully deserving of his place in the team. He
showed us why today, and must start the midweek
Rooney - 9 - Answered his critics today, by scoring a sublime effort and linking up
superbly with his team-mates. Hes a special talent ad its there for all to see. On
his way to becoming the next true United legend
Nani - 6 - Good shot, good free kick...greedy in his play and self centered. Needs
to mature and realise that there's no "I" in team
