·Hi, this is my first post here, so please forgivemeif it is in the wrong place - if it is, please move it rather than delete it.
As you may or may notbe aware, many pubs and leisure facilities across the UK have opted to show live football using European satellite companies (such as Nova) simply because they cannot afford the bank-busting thousands demanded of them by BSkyB. As far as these Licensees were concerned, they were buying a product from within the EU -a free common market- and so were allowed to, as restriction of the free-flow of good or services is not allowed, surely??
Well, no, there is a Licensee called Karen Murphy, who runs a pub in Portsmouth, who was convicted of Criminal Copyright Theft in Portsmouth Magistrates Court in January. She has now appealed her case to the High Court in London, and the Judges have left to consider their verdict.
By prosecutiong these pubs, the Premier League are just trying to force people to pay thousands of pounds a year to Sky, when many pubs simply cannot afford that. Yet if these pubs lose the football trade, then they are worse off still - they are in a real catch 22. Only when we have a competitive market will consumers get value for money.
PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION, BY FOLLOWING THE LINK BELOW TO STOP THESE UNFAIR PROSECUTIONS!

We need a common sence ruling in this case, and to get one, there needs to be as many people as possible making their voice known.
Thank you.
