Lyon have revealed that Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz could replace Alain Perrin as boss at Stade Gerland.

Perrin is expected to part company with the French champions this summer and a number of managers have been linked with the job.

Claude Puel is reportedly the top target but Lille are adamant that he will not leave, while Zico has also been tipped to take the post.

Queiroz has also emerged as a surprise contender, with Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas hopeful that he may be able to tempt Sir Alex Ferguson's right-hand man away from Old Trefford.

"I have thought about him, but it seemed difficult," Aulas told France Football.

"Now, considering the confidential information I just got, everything is possible

I doubt this would happen, but if it did, will this prise Benzema away from Lyon?

He could always go over to Lyon, and send Benzema on a free to OT :D .

I personally think he will stay with Utd, because he's the lead contender for SAF's post in 2 yrs time. Now that he knows the time table, he will stay and help ease the pain of losing Sir Alex.

no way he should go to lyon.
the league there poses no challenge and its pure stupidity to leave old trafford, a place where a new era is beginning and he could actually be the man behind all the future succeses.

:p I agree thedude i don't think anyone wouldn't take that offer.

There's no denying that he's a fantastic ass man but i've always said this he won't be a good manager plus i think we would all prefer Keano or Hughesy, so we should let him. But i agree i can't see it happening :(

I think it would be an excellent move for him. Lyon are a top top club with great players and i doubt he'll get the Man Utd job.
i would like to think that we would appoint a really passionate motivator. i.e. keano.
because although quieroz seems a good tactician and perhaps a good reason for portuguese/brazilian players to come to us, he doesnt really look to have that fire that would really motivate our team. with players on so many millions, you need a tough manager to keep them in line because as we saw with rijkaard at barca, the players can just end up running wild.

I think he will stay but might not get the job anyway. As others have said he would be stupid to leave OT as the only way is down. Actually as far as i know the players have a lot of respect for him so who knows.

We don't know that he wouldn't be a good motivator. A lot of our present team are here due to his influence. Its not all Sir Al. I think he should be given a chance. Also, Keano doesn't have anywhere near enough management experience

I can't see this one happening. CQ seems happy enough at United and with SAF saying that he will be in the job for a maximum of 3 more years, Quieroz is surely a front runner to suceed him. Manager of Manchester United, souds a lot more appealing than manager of Lyon.
