It was 64th minute when Ruud van Nistelrooy had a shot on goal blocked by the gk. Then Raul Gonzalez, who was well offside gives the ball back to Robben who scores for Real.

5 players of Real Madrid left towards Robben to celebrate what was thoguht to be a winning goal at the time .Robben was celebrating at the right corner flag. Then the offical starts signalising that the goal had been scored from an offside postion, and Getafe starting the killer counter attack !. So, other 2 players were put off the play too , it left only Guti and "Judas" alone against the entire Getafe team.Apparently it was no problem for Uche Ikechukwu to score past Casillas only seconds after Real had tought they'd scored.
The ref clearly damaged Real in that decision because it had passed more than 5 sec since the offside position to offside signaling !
But then again - some will say - Real's been helped by the refs once too many times - let them have a taste of it !

I thought this was funny as hell! I saw it in the pub and me and
my mates were laughing. It was the correct decision because he
was definitely offside and it was a lovely counter attack and a
neat finish from Uche. Real can have no complains about this,
but I'm sure they'll try.

Why does it matter if it's five seconds or more?

In my opinion it is better to think about the decision
for that extra few seconds and make sure you come
to the correct decision. The goal was rightly ruled
out for offside and Getafe went up the other end
and scored a perfectly legal goal.

what do you mean - why does it matter....
because when you score a dubious goal - you look at the official, then the ref and if you see nothing's wrong - you go on to celebrate- and 5 seconds are clearly a "late decision" that many officials were slated about . it gives you an option to go on to celebrate... why should they be looking at the ref again in the state of joy , once when they saw nothing's wrong. the ref's late decision influenced the play. had he signaled it at the moment raul played the ball , none of it would have happened

The correct decision was made and the goal stands.
It's just unlucky.
i don't care for real, i really don't, but the ref made a mistake followed by another mistake imo.... sometimes you need to stop the player from playing the ball before a whistle - a ka set-pieces

But the free kick was in their own penalty area,
the referee can't just say "Wait a minute while
the Real players get back in position" because
he would be accused of favouring Real.
Catch 22?

A free-kick is supposed to give that team an advantage. If the free-kick is near the opponents goal the referee will sometimes tell them to wait for his whistle so that the defence can form a wall. However, if the free-kick is in the other half of the pitch then they should be able to take it straight away.

I understand that Real were celebrating but it was all their own doing - their player strayed offside and their players did not play to the whistle (the linesman may not have signalled offside straight away but then you could argue that the ref had not signalled for a goal either).

Great news indeed and it couldnt have happened to
a nicer fellow ;-) (Robben). Im a big Barca fan so
this great result cuts the gap to just 2 points.
Everyone thought Real were running away with the
title but they couldn't be more wrong.
Barca won their game 5-1 with an Eto'o hattrick.
happy days for the Catalan's :)

there is technically nothing wrong with the goal - but the decision was toooo late and in most cases i hear commentators slate the offical by saying - "oh - that's a late flag" . especially as this onewas retroactive ! The goal had already been scored and the official thought - no, wait a minute this guy was offside moments ago -
