When you post on this forum do you feel part of a community? Like a community of fans online, or do you see yourself still as an individual fan?

Thanks
Marie
Both really. As a member of the admin I have a responsibility to the site ownership and also try to maintain the rapport with the fans/members. I am of a different generation to 99% of the members in here but we all have the same common background - a love of a football club.

I remember reading an article not so long ago about online relationships, which said many people now view people they 'meet' regularly online as friends.

I suppose forums such as this one, where we all share a common interest, are typical examples of where people can make friends online.

I'll probably never meet anyone that posts on this forum in the outside World but there are a few I'd like to have a pint with and chat about football/United face-to-face.

I do get a sense of belonging to the group, which I guess means that I feel I belong to the online community within this forum.

Yes, We definitely have our own little community here and It's great.
I personally have got to know some members really well, including my alter ego, AG!!, and a few others.
The other great thing about this place is how friendly and, well normal fun loving people, the mods are. Everyone gets on with each other, no one is better than anyone else.

However as the forum grows over the next couple of years, there will be so man members, wackos and crazy people (not that there isn't a few here already!!!) that I believe all this could change.

But, In response to your question again, I do believe I am part of a community here, as we all share a common interest and this is reflected by the amount of time the members here are online i.e. A LOT!!

the world feels part of a big family !

I'll answer tomorrow when my head will be working a bit better ...

Definitely part of a community.
There are some great people on here who I would gladly share a pint with and there are some that I would consider friends.
We are all different people from different countries and backgrounds but we all have at least one thing in common-the love for our club.

It's very interesting question!

I'm United supporter... sometimes i'm sorry for that i must live in poland :p
Forum like this allow supporters from abroad 'feel' part of a community, it isn't reality but for me a lot... it's great!
I'm reading posts of forum and I've big respect to many persons and I'd like see with them face to face and drink a big beer! :)

I hope my english will be better and better and in future I afford to big conversations :)
