If theres any justice he'll be the new England captain, some example Terry is, simply a thug ... not forgetting the 'spitting' inncident in Russia innvolving Tevez, i'll never forget that, i lost all respect for him that night. I'd rather see Gerrard captain then him but Rio certainly derserves it

He hasn't been given the England captaincy because Capello hasn't awarded the captaincy to a specific person yet.

It's pretty much a given that Ferdinand's the next captain. Gary will probably remain captain for another season with Rio maybe given co-vice captaincy with Giggs in the meantime.

It's very likely that after next season Giggs, Neville, van der Sar & Scholes all retire from top-flight football.
