Manchester United are reported to have agreed a deal for Internacional youngster Rodrigo Possebon.

The 18-year-old midfielder is understood to have been watched by United for two years.

The Red Devils have now pushed through a deal for Possebon - who is looking forward to linking up with Anderson at Old Trafford.

"It is the fulfilment of a dream," he told Zero Hora. "I go there to play with Anderson."

Reports say the deal is worth 910,000 Brazilian reais (£240,000).

It is not United's first foray into the youth market in Brazil, only last year they struck a deal for Fluminese duo Rafael and Fabio - who will be eligible to move to England in 2009 when they turn 18.

New Brazilian Signing !!

Manchester United have confirmed that Rodrigo Possebon joined the club in January and that the Brazilian youngster has been handed the number 34 shirt at Old Trafford.

Possebon, described on United's official website as a 'tall, athletic holding midfielder', has made the move to England from Brazilian club Internacional.

The English champions have been linked with a move for the 18-year-old since the summer but have now officially confirmed that Possebon is a United player.

"Sir Alex Ferguson has handed United's number 34 shirt to Brazilian youngster Rodrigo Possebon," read a club statement.

"The 18-year-old midfielder, who completed a transfer from Sport Club Internacional last month, is expected to keep learning his trade in United's reserves, but will now be eligible for senior duty if required."

Nice. Hope that he does well at United. SAF has been buying a number of young players recently. Perhaps this is the birth of another group of youngster who will one day be legends at United like Scholes, Giggs, Becks, etc.

Apparently he has the mentality of Roy Keane. His coach is quoted to have said "He will run through a brick wall for his team mates"

Some of the other Prem teams do need a good kicking now I come to think about it.
