Ronaldinho's Milan Number Revealed

All of Ronaldinho's many highlight reel moments with Barcelona had him wearing the number ten, so he is famous around the world for wearing what is tantamount to a sacred number in football.

Seedorf has occupied that squad number for most of his Milan career, however, and the fact that the Dutch veteran is not willing to give it up has sparked the first murmurs of unrest in the Milan camp as a result of Ronaldinho's high profile arrival.

Rather than go for the No 11 shirt made available by the departure of Alberto Gilardino to Fiorentina, Milan's new Samba king has instead opted for the number 80.

The rationale behind the choice for the number is the fact that Ronaldinho, or little Ronaldo, was born in 1980.

No word yet on whether the company that manages Ronaldinho's image rights is planning to change their name from 'R10' to 'R80'!

Seedorf is right. Some big ego star strolls into your club and expects
all to bow before him...yeah right says Clarence. he may have a geeky name,
but Clarence is a tough cookie and a seasoned pro. There is a hierarchy that
needs to be respected at Milan. Seedorf has been at that team for years
pulling the strings, so sorry Ronnie, you can **** off if you think your getting the
number 10 jersey...

The president of the club Adriano Galliani told they were never going to ask any player to give up his number for another player. That would be to disrespect the player.
Honour to him.

Number 6 is retired in AC Milan. No one will be able to wear Franco Baresi's number again. That's a way to pay respect to the heroes.
Number 3 will probably also be retired the day when Paolo Maldini hang up his boots.

3 is to only be worn by one of Paolo's kids should they play for the club, after he retires. I've read that in a few places.

I dont know about that but since the Maldini's is so deeply rooted in the club it sounds fair. Dad Cesare both played and managed the team. He's been manager twice even. And Paolo have been a Milan player since his debute at the age of sixteen.
But even if Paolo's oldest son is as early as his father it will take 10 years before we see him wearing the number 3 shirt.

But he looks to have the eye to tackle, the young Daniel Maldini.

seedorf should keep number 10 and if milan have a respect for their players (and i assume
they have) they would never change seedorf number as long he still in milanillo
3 would not suit ronaldinho
so i guess ronaldinho will take gilardinio number 11

MILAN - During the press conference for the presentation of the new shirt, it was announced that the number which Ronaldinho will have on his shoulders is the number 80, from his date of birth. Dinho was in fact born on March 21st 1980.

He have already picked no 80 for the forthcoming season. 11 is left for the clubs other targets Adebayor and Sheva.

Now the Brazilian got 80 and Sheva will take 11 since his old number is taken. Adebayor will pick 80.000 since that'll be his new wage

Who cares about them?

They'll sign other players and bounce back and look to win the title in September but fall like the leaf in winter to end up as 2nd runners up.

Btw, Zambrotta might get the no 11 shirt. I think he had it in both Juve and Barcelona.
