Ronaldo not in a Klaas of his own

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar pulled closer to Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of the European Golden Boot standings with a hat-trick for Ajax.

The 24-year-old striker hit his 30th, 31st and 32nd league goals of the current campaign in Ajax's 4-1 drubbing of De Graafshap on Sunday, to close the gap on Man Utd star Ronaldo at the top of the standings.

The Portuguese winger grabbed his 27th Premier League strike of an extraordinary campaign as United held Middlesbrough 2-2 at the Riverside Stadium.

Ronaldo (54pts) remains on top because the Golden Boot competition organisers value English league goals at a higher rate than those scored in Holland, where Huntelaar's 32 have earned him 48 points.

But the Ajax striker is well clear at the top of the Dutch goalscoring charts and is on course to break Coen Dillen's Eredivisie scoring mark of 43 in a season, set while playing for PSV Eindhoven in 1956/57.

Huntelaar might be somewhat of an unknown quantity, but so is any foreign player that has yet to play in the Premier League.

What I like about Huntelaar is his touch, awareness, decision-making, finishing, positional play and uncanny ability to conjure up goals out of nothing.

Now, it might take a while for a striker to adapt to a new league especially a very physical league like the prem and while Huntelaar would have to do some adapting, I fancy him to do very well in the premier league - he's a bit special, you see. : )

Well thats not entirely true I think. Ronaldo has 37 goals and 7 assists,
3 of those assists coming in 1 game......
I dont know how many Huntelaar has. Can anyone shed some light on this?

these stats are just for the respective domestic league
And for the record

2 Fernando Torres Liverpool 2289 21 3 85 54

Hands up, who would like Torres to be a Manchester United.

I sure would. Look at his movement when he combines with Gerard or his ability to run at defences. It looks pretty damn good to me.

Before the summer I was raving about him to all my Liverpool-supporting friends and they were telling me he is over-rated and now they are like little school girls at a JT concert when they talk about him.....
