Ruud van Nistelrooy ready to quit Real Madrid for AC MIlan in a £6m summer move

from dailymail

Ruud van Nistelrooy is close to completing a £6million move from Real Madrid to AC Milan, where he seems likely to join up with Barcelona's Ronaldinho next season.

The Holland striker, 32 in July, joined Real from Manchester United for £12.5m in 2006. In his first season at the Bernabeu he scored 25 goals as Real won the Spanish title and despite injuries this season, Van Nistelrooy has scored 12 goals in 21 matches.

Real are likely to make a move for Chelsea's Didier Drogba as Van Nistelrooy's replacement.

Chelsea are the latest club to run the rule over Slovakia international Marek Hamsik.

The 6ft tall Napoli midfielder impressed Chelsea scouts during the 2-0 victory over Atalanta last weekend.

The 20-year-old, who models himself on Pavel Nedved, has also attracted interest from Juventus and Manchester United.

Van Nistelrooy To Milan Talk Denied

Source: Goal.com

A respected Real Madrid sporting director has already denied reports in the Italian and Spanish press that prolific Dutch hitman Ruud van Nistelrooy could be on his way to AC Milan at the end of the season.

Catalan daily 'Sport' picked up on the speculation in the Italian press and yesterday ran a story claiming that van Nistelrooy could be on his way to Milan in the summer for a fee of €7million, despite only recently signing a contract extension with Los Blancos.

Madrid-centric Marca decided to get to the bottom of the rumours and were told by a 'high-ranking Madrid director' that all talk of a move is incorrect and that van Nistelrooy will still be at the club next season.

"Van Nistelrooy is not available and any team that wants him will have to pay his release clause (€150million)," he told the paper.

"Why would we consider letting him leave when he has just signed an extension? Next season it is certain that he will return to be one of the top goal-scorers. We have him here and he is very important for us."

The director's assertions were backed up by van Nistelrooy's agent Rodger Lindse.

"There is nothing in it; it is made up. Friends have been calling me over the last few days to ask if van Nistelrooy is going to Milan. I do not know where this come from; he has only just renewed his contract and is happy in Madrid," he affirmed.

"Really, it is nothing. I was in Madrid recently to watch the match between Real Madrid and Valencia, at which I met with (Madrid sporting director Predrag) Mijatovic, and nothing was spoken of such a deal."

lost his legs to an exstent, him and raul are similar in that they both are getting on and need some one more athletic like drogba to play along side them, and milan need a born goal scorer, also the italien game is a lot slower so ruud could cut it for 3-4 more years yet

This story is a load of tripe imo.

He has settled in Madrid, just learned the language, and has a wife and young child to think about.

Hes not going to start that all over again.
