Sampdoria are ready to pounce for under-fire Chelsea striker Andrei Shevchenko according to Sportmediaset, hijacking Milan's plans for him in the process.

The Blucerchiati have been watching the player's transfer saga unfold at arms length but they are now ready to sneak in and reignite their bid for the striker.

Sheva was supposed to join Milan in a loan deal before the move failed.

Sportmediaset claims that Chelsea are now ready to allow the Ukrainian hit-man to join Sampdoria on loan for free, which is what the Rossoneri wanted.

It is believed the Blues don't want to send their player back to the club they paid €45m for him in 2006. So it seems as if the idea at Stamford Bridge is anywhere but Milan.

Sheva doesn't seem a part of Felipe Scolari's plans and the coach was quoted as saying, ‘Sheva is not the player he was three years ago', leading to speculation that Chelsea still want him out.

Sampdoria are waiting to make their move and they are likely to waste no time as the transfer window closes next Sunday.

Blucerchiati president Ricardo Garrone has a good relationship with Abramovich and a deal is likely to take off. A one-year loan with the right to take him on permanently next year is on the cards.

However, Milan vice president Adriano Galliani is likely to grumble upon hearing Samp's cunning plan. The bald-headed chief will swing into action in order to prevent the port city side from hijacking the forward form under his nose, as the fireworks behind Shevchenko's Stamford Bridge exit are about to be lit.
