Season Ticket

Friend has just acquired a season ticket. It is for row aa in the south stand. Is this the very front row and if so what is the view like from there. Also, I told him that the front row seats aren't used for UEFA Champions League games; am i correct and if so, what happens if he is looking a seat for european games.
