Serbia. When you mention Serbia to most football fans, well they don't react like when you mention France but I don't think they(fans) realize the force the National team of Serbia are fast becoming in Europe.

Stojkovic(Sp Lisbon) is one massive goalkeeper that not to long ago was under the watchful eyes of Manchester United. Serbia are well known for the defensive record.
The goalkeeper is not the only to help keep that going.

Nemanja Vidic - Had a rough edged start at first at United, but has quickly established himself as a solid no nonsense defender, who last season played a vital role for Manchester United in all competitions. Vidic has also proved has he has one powerful head and can pose great problems for opposition in the box from corners.

Dustan Basta(RSB). The blond right-back is especially impressive in attacking mode.
Already vice captain at his current club. Serbian Gary Neville!

Milan Stepanov(FC Oporto). An uncomplicated but very effective CB whose keen sense of anticipation, strength in the air and meaty challenges play a key role in Serbia's back line. Stepanov should form the core of Serbia's defence for many a year!

Milos Krasic(CSKA Moscow). He played in the Serbian team 24 March 2007 against Kazakhstan. He also played in the match against Portugal on the 28th of March at the Red Star Stadium at Belgrade. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, but Krasić was very impressive playing a roaming role in midfield. His composure on the ball and pace and movement was really impressive and in more ways than one reminds people of the great Czech midfielder Pavel Nedved. Krasić seems adept playing on both wings, however certain aspects of his game still leaves a fair bit to be desired. Whilst his movement and control of the football is very impressive, his end product and passing range at time disappoints. But, being only 22 years of age, he is bound to improve and make a move to one of the bigger European clubs in the years to come.

Zoran Tosic(FK Partizan) He might be small in comparison to most. But this 20 year old is going to go places. His great performances both in the domestic scene with Banat and on the international scene with Serbia have earned him glances from many clubs across Europe.

On August 6, 2007, Tošić signed a four year profesionnal contract with giants FK Partizan. He has since then been a standard member of the team. On August 31, 2007, he received a first call-up to Serbia's squad for the UEFA EURO 2008 qualifiers against Finland and Portugal by national team manager Javier Clemente, and made his international debut against Finland. He has also impressed on the domestic front!

Milan Smiljanic(RCD) - Smiljanić played for FK Partizan before signing for Espanyol. He had taken huge responsibilities at his club and became team captain despite his very young age. He was recently one of the most important elements on the Serbia national under-21 football team and his performance at the 2007 UEFA European Under-21.

They have a bright future! Plenty of prospects!
