Heinze is the name that must stay at manu because he always gives his heart and 110% on the pitch. If someone from defence should be sold maybe silvestre or brown because gabriel can cover both left back and central defender. I think that gaby plays better than patrice and he should be a first team regular and sholdn't watch his team-mates from the bench. But he must stay.

It will be sad to see Gaby leave but again the lad has not stayed for more than 3 seasons at any of the clubs he has played so it might be that it is his wish to leave... It will definitely be sad to see our Lionheart leave Utd... I hope that the gaffer persuades him to stay for atleast 2 more seasons

Id prefer he stayed but it seems pretty obvious he is off. He would get a great offer from Spain. He is still a quality player but I think Evra offers a few extra dimensions at left back(more pace and better passing). Id obviously love Gaby to be in the squad but if I were him Id go get first team football somewhere else. He is hitting 30 soon I think so a fresh start at a new club would be in his interests. Whatever he does I wish him luck. We will ALL remember him fondly for what he did for United.

I would like him to stay - the only problem i have with him is that he seems very hot headed and does get booked a lot when he doesn't necessarily have to. However, i think he's a very good player and i will be sad to see him go.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is planning an audacious swoop to hijack Juventus' £5million move for Manchester United left-back Gabriel Heinze

The 29-year-old is currently on international duty with Argentina at the Copa America and was expected to tie up his move to Juve upon returning.

However Benitez has now registered his interest in Heinze according to the Sun and the Anfield boss could pull off the deal if he is prepared to pay the Red Devils' asking price.

Heinze is said to be happy in the north-west and would welcome the chance to stay in the area, although he may not want to risk the wrath of United's fans by joining their fierce rivals.

He said of the interest in him: "My head is with the Argentina team to play the Copa America.

"After that and a holiday, I will know better where I will play next season."

Benitez has struggled to find a regular left-back for Liverpool and reportedly sees Heinze, no longer first-choice at Old Trafford, as the ideal candidate to fill the role.

Heinze leaving is one thing but surely he wouldnt go to the Pool would he???That would be horrible.
Looks like they have got their hands on Torres as well with Forlan taking his place at Atletico.

You guys are all talking as if he is for sure departing Old Trafford. He wont be, Fergie would make one of the biggest mistakes in his managerial career if he lets Heinze go. Heinze won't leave he said himself that he has just enjoyed one of his best seasons and wants to remain at United, if the club don't want him than he will leave but he doesn't want to, why would he? If we sell him we would have a massive hole at left-back. Silvestre is not United quality anymore and if anyone should be sold it should be him (and Richardson), Evra although he has improved massively he is still prone to the occasional "howler". Heinze and Evra is a very stong healthy left-back and they both compliment eachother.

Think logically: He was our player of the year back in 2005, and then he suffered a horrendous injury in 2006 came back for the World Cup played well but suffered a few injuries again in the new season and has been put down in the pecking order by a resurgent Evra desperate to prove himself. He deserves one more chance doesn't he.

Put it this way next season we will see whether or not he should be sold. Now that he is a stronger player and he knows that left-back position is no longer a given he will (should) fight harder, if he does a Ruud Van Nistelrooy and says "**** this, I'm not fighting for my position" then he should be kicked out.

Hope this makes sense.
