Simpson to Stay at United

On-loan Manchester United full-back Danny Simpson believes he is unlikely to stay beyond his current spell at Portman Road next season.

Simpson who has been a big hit at Portman Road since joining in the loan window, says 'If Ipswich were promoted to the Premier League I would love to be involved here.'
However, Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson has told the youngster that he is very much part of his plans next season for his side's probable title defence. Simpson has in the past been likened to United and England right-back Gary Neville.

Danny has impressed me this season, and looks to be doing well at Ipswich. Admittedly, I was calling for Fergie to go out and buy a right back to replace the ageing skipper Neville, but if this lad can live up to the promise that he is showing, then Fergie may just have an ace up his sleeve.

When Danny did his interviews, he seemed to me a down to earth kind of lad, and just happy to be involved at United. The lad can defend and bom on forward similarly to Patrice Evra.

I really hope Danny comes good but for now I guess we will just have to watch this space.

That was exactly the same 'vision' and probably the same words too that Fergie sold to Pique last season. Lol.

And I must say Fergie is a damned good salesman.

Welcome to Manchester United Football Club. Only the best will take the field.... Er... most of the times.

He would be useful for the League cup imo and good cover if we fail to buy a new full back...his got potential and we should keep him and maybe loan him out again in January if they get knocked out in the League Cup

I also wanted a new right-back but we may not need one.

I'm a big fan of Simpson and he can make it at United. The only question is whether he will be given the chance too

But imo he would be a better option than Brown at right-back, as I said I would be more comfortable with a natural right-back playing full-time.
