I was flicking through Goal.com when I noticed a story; former Empoli coach Gigi Cagni had listed Totti and De Rossi as top 5 players, incidentally his top 5 were all Serie A players, here's the story. Naturally I was so offended I made a post detailing my top 5. While it was a spur of the moment frustration list when I looked at it again I realised it could be the most accurate top 5 list around at the moment. Modesty isn't my strong suit. Anyway, here it is:

1. Cristiano Ronaldo
2. Iker Casillas
3. Luca Toni
4. Esteban Cambiasso
5. Sergio Ramos

So what do you think? Spot On? Or so far off as to be embarrassing?

I used to be in awe at Casillas! Amazing goalkeeper! Wish Utd had him during the Barthez and Carroll days! lol Fair play to Ronny, he clearly deserves it. Been amazing in recent months.

Yeah, sorry, should have mentioned that, I'm going by current form in that top 5. Give it t the end of the season and the list will probably change a fair few times. Plus it was a hard decision to leave out Messi/Kaka but again going on current form, Messi's only just back from injury so he'll probably make the list soon and as for Kaka I'm expecting big things from him for 2008. To be honest I''m from the school of thought that didn't really jump on the Kaka bandwagon due to his less than awesome Serie A form last year. I believe he's talented though and I put his Serie A form down to the fact that Milan had no awesome strikers who could do the job domestically. However now with Pato and Ronaldo I expect him to make the list again.
