Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a fee for summer target Andrei Arshavin from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, when the transfer window reopens in January, according to The Mirror.
Spurs made Russian International Arshavin their main target this summer, but despite trying to negotiate a deal for the playmaker to bring him to White Hart Lane right up until the deadline. The North London club were unable to agree on a fee with Zenit, with the UEFA Cup Winners holding out for a fee in excess of £20million.
This saw Tottenham boss Juande Ramos sign Arshavin's Russian International strike-partner Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow, along with Fraizer Campbell on a season-long loan from Manchester United as part of the deal that saw Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov leave for Old Trafford.
However, it is now being reported that Spurs are still eager to sign 27-year-old Arshavin and have agreed a £15million deal with Zenit to bring the Russian to the Premier League in January and pair him with countryman Pavlyuchenko at White hart Lane.
Tottenham have also been linked with January moves for England International Emile Heskey and Klaas Jan Huntelaar, but it would appear that Ramos along with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy still see Arshavin as their main target in January.
