United have rarely gambled on South American players in the past. We've been
stung by players like Veron while the club's first Brazilian signing, Kleberson,
didn't live up to expectations.

But, this season, players like Anderson and Tevez have proved that South
Americans can make it at Old Trafford.

Their success may have paved the way for the arrival of more compatriots from
across the Atlantic with the club announcing that 18 year-old Rodrigo Possebon
has joined us from Brazilian club Internacional.

With a description of ‘a tall, athletic holding midfielder', he sounds like someone in
the Patrick Viera mould.

Possebon's arrival takes the tally of Brazilians to four at the club with Anderson
and another pair of teenage compatriots Fabio and Rafael also joining from
Fluminese last month.

Let us know if you think the Latin connection is the way forward or if it's safer to
recruit players from Europe.
