Over the last few weeks, I have seen the word 'fanboy' with increasing regularity on this site. Most often in conjunction with transfer discussion.

The term is defined as: "Fanboy is a term used to describe any individual who is devoted to a single subject in an emotional or fanatical manner, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession."

So I'd have a few questions.

1. Why are certain transfer targets deemed to "please the fanboys" and why is it wrong to want the best players at Manchester United?

I mean, would you have preferred Eric Cantona to play for Man City and Ruud van Nistelrooy for Liverpool?

2. Which players in world football now, would you consider transfer targets that would "please the fan boys"

3. Have we signed players in the past that "pleased the fanboys"?
