Sir Alex Ferguson sayed that the current bunch of players he has is better than the squad of 1999 i doubt that the way they played against barca was very poor. In 1999 we had 4 strikers this year we realli ave 2 Tevez, Rooney {Saha always injured]. In the summer we need to buy an out and out goalscoerer.

totally agree with the threadbearer in 99 we had 4 good strikers, this year we have had rooney and tevez and neither is an out and out goalscorer.
i don't even think tevez is 100% fit,we desperatly need a top quality striker for next season along with manucho ,we should then be in excellent shape.
saha can pack his bags you just cannot rely on the guy at all,he would be a great addition if fit but he has been injured for almost 18 months its time for him to go .

Automatically when United look as if they are in with a shout of sucess, the squad is inevitably compared with the one of 1999. I think that the '99 squad was so unique and had so much strength in depth, that it will be hard for anyone to match that.

In our current squad I feel we lack another striker, or possibly two and maybe one more defender, if Gary cannot get back to full fitness :( but I sincerely hope he does.

If we can hold onto all of our players, and add two or maybe three fresh faces in the summer, then I think we will have the closest squad to '99 that we have had since that famous night in the Nou Camp.
