Ronny Johnson??fazman said:without a doubt schmicheal , kanchelskis , irwin , solskear , ronny johnson
and hopefully manucho will be added to that list
fair enough cantona but keane was a record fee at the time we got ronny johnson for 250 000 and he won about 4 league titles 1 fa cup a european cupJazz 16 said:Ronny Johnson??You would have him in the top 5 before
Keane or Cantona?
Keane was a transfer record breaking fee, however modest it looks today!RichardsReds said:Looks spot on to me!
Keane would be next on that list ahead of Irwin and Ronaldo though.
yeh id agree thanks for pointing out what ive been saying keane was a record feeeoininho said:Keane was a transfer record breaking fee, however modest it looks today!
I think Vidic is up there
You make some good points on Ronny but I would bet any money that youfazman said:fair enough cantona but keane was a record fee at the time we got ronny johnson for 250 000 and he won about 4 league titles 1 fa cup a european cup
could play in midfield and defence and would score loads of headers off corners so he justifs being in there sir jazz of nows alot
I dont consider cantona and keane as unknown small transfer signings so they dont count yes if you were to ask me our most influential signings they would be in the top five but not this list jazzJazz 16 said:You make some good points on Ronny but I would bet any money that you
are the ONLY United fan on earth (except maybe Ronny's ma) that would have
Johnson in ahead of Keane and Cantona.
Price tags arent the be all and end all. The 3.75 million for Keane is a pittance
for all he has achieved for the club.
but the thread topic was 'Top 5 bargain buys'.....fazman said:I dont consider cantona and keane as unknown small transfer signings so they dont count yes if you were to ask me our most influential signings they would be in the top five but not this list jazz![]()
ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not on my list there not in the running as my list is about unknown cheap signings ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Jazz 16 said:but the thread topic was 'Top 5 bargain buys'.....
1 million for Cantona was bargain of the century and even though Keane's
fee was a record at the time it is STILL a bargain of huge proportions.
He was our most successful captain ever and the main reason we won so
much on the pitch. If THATS not a bargain then I dont know what is.
£12 million may seem a bargain now. I consider bargains like signing a player for half a million while players at the same time were being sold for say £8 million and then the half million player proves to be even better than any of them. For this reason,yangch0000 said:no way ronaldo is on that list, irwin, cantona, schmeichel, bruce, to list a few, all of them way ahead of ronaldo
